Hi Thanks for another informative video. I was wondering where do you buy all your beautiful coloured fleece material from. I live in the uk and find bold, beautiful and fun prints really hard to find.
Do you know why my needle keeps breaking? Everyone is saying my fabric is too thick, but one time it broke when nothing was even on the machine. I’m new to sewing so this is really frustrating because I was just getting the hand of it and now my needles are all breaking.
Are you using the correct needle? I use denim needles, link is in the description. Keep in mind other needles are not meant to go through thick layers so yes they will break. I have had great luck using the denim needles they handle thick layers pretty well... but again regular/universal needles will not work... Only other thing i could recommend is to use less layers. Or if you are using the correct needle, is it installed in your machine correctly? Is it bent? Is it dull? All those things can cause your need to break. Hope this helps.
Also one more note, your machine may not be capable of going through many layers, some machines are meant for light duty work like garments and things like that so keep that in mind too.
@@GuineaPiggiesDesigns thank you! I didn’t know other types of needles existed. This helps a lot. Do you have a sewing machine recommendation for thick layers?
@@TheRodentHouse Oh no worries! I do and all machine links are also linked in my description, if you are on a budget I recommend the singer heavy duty... but the Janome 6600 is amazing, and the next one up is the Janome M7 which is the machine I have now. :)
Sewing twice is so smart! I have lost track of items purchased on Etsy that have developed holes! Easier to prevent than to fix later!
So true! I always sew twice, if I dont sew twice I just add more seams which hints why i have so many seams in my liners.
Love the tie dye in the background of first part of video! Of course I love everything you are making!
Thank you! it's a jersey knit, I made a couple hoodies out of it. I been sewing my own clothes now.
