equations in handbook still help. Its the same thing you wrote, but set pressures =0 & W=0, and you can solve for resultant forces in x and y directions
f=-(.126)(999.7)(25cos(135)-25)= 5375 in the direction dictated by the handbook(+), which in the problem is negative
