Great video and delighted you didn't cross the M6 at Shap and announce youre in the Yorkshire Dales. Still firmly in Cumbria in the Westmoreland Dales. Just watching you plot your route on the map,. Looking forward to what comes after and then to part 3. Bonus features the town I was born in mentioned in P1 on the railway station🙂 very unusual. Our village always gets a mention and a pint at the Crown is worth the walk 👍
Great start to your Coast to Coast series Simon. Liking the standing-in-the-ocean tradition at the beginning. Lots of humour and keeping it real. I'm currently enjoying Part 2! ATB - Ben
Great video Simon! Well done. I really like the way you're showing your journey with all the emotions that goes with it. Happy face when in B&B and miserable one when tired and soaked. Humorous and very enjoyable.
That happened to me the other week in the Cambrians - my camera drowned and was right of. It healed a few days later, which lifted my spirits. Your spirits certainly lifted with so many good offers of stays and or lifts. You declined and didn't cut the corners. Well done. Mark
Good job. I like the fact that your getting on with it, having a laugh and taking the piss out of yourself. With this along you will get on in the tube world. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed Swaledale Simon. You are right, Haweswater is a long, boring trudge. Hope the blisters ease off and you get to enjoy to glorious second half of the walk.
Great video.... it seems so easy to go off track ..???.... enjoying it so far .... I am doing mine in September 2020..... I am a hell of a lot older than you pal so I’m hoping it’s not gonna break me..... Although I am looking at 14 days.... 👍👍👍
Great video - we did the c2c a couple of years ago - never got sheep swarmed though! Did meet a highly strung horse ( bouncing round like he’d taken something) who definitely didn’t want us crossing his field -ended up barrel rolling under the fence instead! Try the west highland way next!
Just started planning my trip for June this year. Hopefully enough accommodation will be open. May I ask what boots you wore. And how did they cope with the various terrains?
Thanks Paul, the terrains were fine but walking poles are key, particularly through the lakes. I used Salomon GTX Ultra shoes and they worked well. Have you seen any you like? Good luck with it mate, Si
Dunno if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend during the lockdown :)
Amazing set of videos, Simon. Inspired me to get it done after lockdown. I may of missed it but what time of year did you complete the walk? Thanks for putting these out, all the best! Ryan
@@SimonOutdoors It’s my 30th at the end of this coming September so I think I may follow in your footsteps and do it then. I’m tempted to go for B&Bs and hotels the whole way as a treat to myself 😅. How often do you manage to get up to Lakeland? Quite the way from where you’re based it seems. I lived in Twickenham for 3 years and know how long that journey can be! Thanks for replying 😊
@@ryanglynn7080 happy birthday well in advance mate, it’s the big one! I try to get up when I can, the drive isn’t too bad to be honest. Try to leave early morning. Maybe 5 - 10 times a year to the Peak District in a normal year
Good so far, I’m going next May, based on your experience looks like I’m going to have to learn how to use a map with compass possibly invest in a gps. Not sure if you’ve done the west highland way but highly recommend it.
Simon, enjoyed watching your C2C journey. Quick question, did you find your walking poles useful? I am walking the route at Easter but I have never used poles and didn't plan on taking any as I've never felt the need to, but as it is multi-day hike and 192 miles, slightly different to may usual 30-35 miles over 2 days in the lakes with a day sack or a 15-20 mile 2 night wild-camp I thought I would ask. Would really appreciate your advice? Cheers

I have a thermarest x lite and it got a small hole. I sent it off when I got back and they fixed it. It has been great ever since :)

Good on you for doing it however you do it!
