We were nervous as we cleaned up the bag with something inside on the sidewalk

  • Hi everybody.
Today we continue to clean the sidewalks in a big city. It seems that the environmental sanitation managers have forgotten the public works and sidewalks in this area, even though the works are very new, there are many people walking here in the afternoon. When exercising, tall grasses have gradually grown into the lane of traffic participants. This is not good and causes unsafety. We have tried to clean it up to spread the spirit of preserving environmental hygiene. school, hope everyone has better awareness to work together to maintain the city's hygiene.
    #clean #cleanup #cleansidewalk

Who from the U.S. was alive during the 1970's and remembers the word litterbug? It's an anachronistic term for someone who throws their garbage anywhere but in a bin. It was a term of shame, an admonishment, and no person in 1970's America wanted to be known as a litterbug. There is no equivalent term today. The closest we get in the 2020's is the concept of, "green," and leaving a, "carbon footprint," but no word or phrase that has the same connotation and societal stigma that litterbug had.
So, being a child of the 1970's (born 1965) I had been raised to, "Give a hoot! Don't pollute!" These were the words of Woodsy Owl, an anthropomorphic owl created by the United States Forest Service who introduced the ideas of conservation, proper refuse disposal, environmental pollution elimination, and responsible stewardship of natural spaces to millions of American children. Woodsy Owl along with Smokey Bear (another anthropomorphic animal used by the U.S. Forest Service in their forest fire prevention efforts beginning in the 1940's, who declared, "Only YOU can prevent forest fires!") became beloved national symbols of protection, preservation, and love for wildlife and natural areas.
Unfortunately, corporate greed often dictates American politics. The timber industry lobbied against Woodsy Owl because they felt conservation efforts, especially regarding the endangered spotted owl, were cutting into their profits. So, although Woodsy Owl still exists, he has been summarily cancelled by the timber industry and the Department of the Interior.
To the channel's creator: please help me to understand what's happening in your country. I have noticed much rubbish in common areas. Is it because of problems in infrastructure? Is there a lack of proper and regular refuse collection? Are there public service announcements regarding this problem? Do you have a Woodsy Owl or Smokey Bear type of character in your country? I suppose some research online might give me some answers but I'd rather get answers from a regular citizen. I believe the people, not some contrived propaganda. Thank you for helping me to understand your people, their behavior, and how problems are addressed there.
I believe it's ok to be critical. Saying there's a problem is the first step in resolving it! That's what real patriots do, not covering it up with lies that decry that everything is perfect! We have people like that in my country.😲😡
There is a troubling movement here in the United States that threatens conservation efforts. There are many members of a certain political party who do not support responsible efforts in addressing climate change. Indeed, they even tout climate change as a "hoax." (Anything that threatens this party is called a hoax.) Do you have similar problems there? Again, thank you for any answers that help me to understand.
Also, much gratitude for your hard, back-breaking work and efforts to improve your community. You deserve recognition for giving selflessly of your time, effort, and energy! They do not go unnoticed and unappreciated.
May health, happiness, and good fortune follow you everywhere on your journey through life! 🌼🤗🌼

I don’t understand why your government would have such beautiful sidewalks and then let them be covered with grass and weeds. They are amazing when cleaned. You do a great job.
