I can empathize with just the overwhelm of what you do! Comments and social media is just a crazy amount of noise, so making space for yourself to be grounded is so important. Glad you’re doing that for yourself! ❤
It’s so fun to hear you guys talking about setting up for Christmas cause I remember the baby reveal last year !!! Can’t believe it’s been a year little Smokey boy!
I’m a FTM and have a 2 year old daughter and what smoke is going through sounds similar to what we experienced which was a milestone regression. Once they start learning something new ( rolling, sitting, walking, talking etc.) it almost triggers them to just continue to do which results in sleepless nights. Allowing him to learn to self soothe is totally normal so don’t feel bad if you feel letting him cry it out works for you and your baby. We still use the cry it out method to this day specially now that she refuses bedtime. 9/10 times she will put herself back to sleep. You both are doing an amazing job and remember that parenthood is a journey that is unique to you and your child ❤
Juj I totally hear you!!! I actually find it so inspiring that you are able to continue to be yourself in these vlogs and keep putting them out there while having to read so many opinions on them. I don’t even have a platform and I feel that way even about people that follow me and realistically 98% of them are probably not even paying the slightest attention to what I’m doing. I couldn’t image the added eyes. But that’s what makes you made for this! You keep doing it despite all of that and I see it in you guys. Keep being you ❤
I did the cry it out at 5 months and my boy is 1.5 now and he still sleeps through the night. He sleeps in his own room and knows bedtime is bedtime. He doesn’t even cry in the bed anymore but I believe the cry it out was the best thing for him. Also, don’t wait too long to do it. 4-6 months at most is the best
So happy you put another vlog out. You two are the first channel I started watching on RUclips and I just love you guys. Swaddle transition is rough, good luck!
Being a parent is so so difficult but so rewarding- we learn as we go along y’all are doing so fantastic and still look amazing and beautiful!!! love you guys ❤
Just wanted to stop by and say you are doing amazing mama! My son is about to be 3 months and I look to you and Hunter a lot for advice and to see what is coming next for my baby. I really appreciate you guys sharing your parenting journey with us!❤
Smokey is getting so bigggg!!!🤗 Isn't it so awesome to have that break through in things you're working through in parenting. Its like a breath of fresh air ahhhh
Hi Julia, We used the nested bean swaddles, they have different ones for stages and moms on call for routine / schedule. Our four year old and 1 year old sleep 7pm to 6:30-7am.
Smoke is growing up so fast. Soon you'll have to make room for him when he pushes the walker. Julia, the black outfit with the voile fabric skirt is 🔥🔥 on you. Sending Hunter my warmest wishes for good health. ❤🌺
The alice & Olivia fit was gorgeous on you Julia!!!! Ive been watching you for so long and don't think I have ever seen you in something like that, its super flattering on you!
Also also, totally don’t want this to come across as critiquing like you were talking about earlier, but we definitely started our baby journey wanting to feel things out and be more easy going like y’all have mentioned some, but we quickly realized that when it came to *sacred* sleep that schedules and other expertise was what we needed to rely on! Our girl was fighting naps and bedtime around the 4 month mark and that’s when we started the Ferber method. I had a lot of anxiety around it (leaving her to cry for *maybe* 5 minutes by herself) but when I listened to a pediatric sleep therapist talking about it, she put it so well. She framed it in the very true way that you’re giving your baby a gift in teaching her to self soothe on her own - that this will help her with sleep anxiety through childhood and adolescent years. It reframed the situation for me. Lots of different methods but Ferber was great for us and only took 5-6 days to get it down. But! Will say if you do Ferber - just put baby down and then hand the monitor to your husband and you leave the house. Omg THE CRIES. Like you know they’re okay, but they don’t yet know they’re okay and those first few minutes are painful. But then they learn they’re okay and life goes on and it’s time for wine. Good vibes to you guys!♥️
So funny how people will comment negative things or comment something they think are being "helpful" but are being passive aggressive lolol you guys are brave putting yourselves out there and honestly all I see are two parents figuring it out.. People need to remember we are all human and give each other some grace! Love you guys so much and thank you for being authentically you ❤️
Also- thank you for sharing the real mom stuff with us. I moved right after by baby was born and you are my only mom friend lol. You make me not feel so alone and I am so thankful for you. Please keep sharing and try not to worry about all the negativity because the positive ones like us, really love you
For sure introduce a lovie/stuffie at some point. I did with my daughter around 9 months and encouraged her to always sleep with it. Here we are almost 5 years later and she still has the same teddy bear sleeping with her for security. Also, she takes such good care of him and we never go anywhere without him. (I even bought a backup just in case anything ever happened to him!) XOXO❤
My babe is 7.5 months right now and at about 5.5 months we had to cut the swaddle and had the same experience as you. We decided to sleep train at the same time as cutting the swaddle and we had a ROUGH 5 days and then she was officially Crib Broken. She LOVES her crib now. Sleep training is hard (for mama most in my house) but so beyond worth it. I am now able to manage my work day around her consistent schedule and I work full time from home with her with me all day. I know you are loving your Nanny but if you do end up sleep training and find that the consistency even allows you to manage your work day around it, maybe you’ll be able to manage both on your own (although it’s hard as hell and definitely not permanent in my case). Good Luck!!
Julia, I have to sincerely thank you for sharing your tip in a recent video about First Aid Beauty. I didn’t realize the skin I had been struggling with the past year wasn’t my “new” face as I aged. I started using FAB and I look 10 years younger or like I have a filter on my face. I tear up thinking about how grateful I am for you sharing that brand with me.
I hope you both see this comment but I’ve been watching you guys for awhile. Thank you for sharing your life, it’s been great seeing your journey to what it is now. ILY❤
My whole family (hubby and two toddlers) have been sick for 3 WEEKS! Finally went to the doc and they determined it was an upper respiratory infection and ear infections for our kiddos. We feel for you Hunter! It is absolutely draining. Hope you are feeling better!
I love how Julia said she wanted the snake skin boots because those were her true style, and not the style she feels like she has to have for social media… and hunter picked them out for her… he knows her so well. So sweet.
Sleep training was so easy for us too! We coslept 4-7 months but he would wake up constantly after 6 months. The day he was put in the crib, he slept through the night. Every baby needs something different 🤷🏼♀️ Glad it was easy for you guys ❤
Absolutely love your little fam, authentic, genuine and a WHOLE VIBE 🤌. Can i ask where your cherub baby longsleeve is from at the end of the video please ❤❤
You guys are the most genuine family. Of all the bloggers I watch you guys are the most authentic and I love your interior decorating aah let me say , everything you guys do.❤❤❤
I always watch your guys vlogs while I’m at the gym and I have a 6 month old and smoke reminds me of my son and always makes me miss him! Haha your son is just the sweetest!!! 🥰
Military spouse here- soloparenting is SO TOUGH butttt you feel so proud and capable after each trip/deployment/even a week of soloparenting. You’re a great mama, the perfect mom for smokes handpicked by God 🤍 incredible job this week!!!
Smokers! Look at you, you are growing so fast. Is Smokie trying to look a little like Hunter too? What a sweetheart. Hunter, I hope you're on the mend now, and feeling much better. Julia you looked gorgeous in you're event pose. You guys are such an adorable family.♥♥
I sleep trained my baby at 4 months & it helped so much! He’s 8 months now & he sleeps in his kyte sleep sack at night. He’s breastfed so he wakes up 1-2 times a night but he sleeps & naps great. I used pick up put down method (I made this method up & then realized it’s an actual sleep training method lol) It changed up the game!!! He started being so independent and sleeping great. I highly recommend sleep training. Hearing him cry gets a little easier bc I know it’s what’s best for him so he can actually get the sleep he needs. Before I sleep trained him he would only nap on me & I was going crazy. Y’all are amazing parents!!!!! ❤
we had the same issue with a 4 month sleep regression! def do just cold turkey kyte sleep sacks and we ended up gentle sleep training with taking cara babies took 3 days for us. best advice music & headphones and distraction (folding laundry) while watching the monitor like a hawk. i couldnt hear him cry even for a few minutes so it l helped us get through the rough few nights. i recommend the 2.5 tog kyte it kept our son more snuggled (we trained during colder months too). and we kept his room at 70-72 degrees he slept longer with the room being less cool!
Hi Julia, I am you as a first time mom and a mom of a boy toddler now. Our pediatrician said before "can you afford to let him cry it out?" and i didn't really know what that meant, but it's exactly what you did. We let him cry it out, and since he was 4 months, he's slept through the night til this day (he's 2 1/5 now). YOU ARE DOING SOOO AWESOME!
I just transitioned my little boy. I used the halo sleep sack swaddle 3-6 months. He liked it because you can still swaddle his body but not his arms! That’s really worked for us!
Was just in the same boat with the swaddle! I tried so many and the dreamland transition weighted sleep sack has been the best! Kinda holds her arms down. It was a full rough week for us but now it’s better. Just gotta power through it and know that it’ll end eventually ❤
Hi momma! I had such a hard time with the transition too. My son woke up all the time. My sister recommended weighted sleep sacks. It worked better! Just wanted to let you know incase you wanted to try! Good luck!!!❤❤❤
We started with unswaddling one arm at a time! Our girl did really well that way because there was only one arm to handle and then she got comfortable with that before both arms out!
i feel for hunter. i have an autoimmune disease and it literally takes forever to feel well after any illness. its hard parenting alone especially when you are sick. we all three got sick one time and omg it was so intense, baby did the best lmao they are crazy lol
Juj thank you for explaining why you don’t respond to comments. We still love you🫶🏼 I appreciate when Hunter responds for the both of you. Y’all make a good team and baby Smokers is a natural on camera. I can’t wait for him to start talking🤍🗣️
My baby is 4 months I use fleece pjs there cozy so he sleeps longer And I use a (baby brezza) it’s a strap you wrap around your baby mattress and there is a strap that wraps on his tummy I make mine loose enough to put 3-4 fingers. It minimizes his movements I really like it . The Velcro is loud but it doesn’t faze him . Highly recommend
Oh man, I remember these days! I know throwing like 6 paci’s in the crib around him would help, so they can feel around and put it back in themselves. We practiced putting in pacis himself during the day and a lovey was also key - the lovey would soothe him when he couldn’t find a paci. You got this!!!💪🏻
So good to have you back with a vlog. Julia’s face when Hunter said he thinks he has pneumonia 🤣❤️. Smokey is such a big boy now, I think he definitely chatty like his father 😂. I love your living room I wish I could get a view but it looks really good from what I’m seeing.
So glad to see you guys back again. Iv'e been feeling just like Hunter. I think the tiredness and fatigue have been the worst symptom of all. I also don't have Co 19 or Flu, turns out it's walking pneumonia. Finally getting some antibiotics and cough syrup and I am feeling a bit better. I can totally relate Hunter.
I have a son a week younger than Smoke and he’s in his nursery now and we have the Dreamland Sleep sack! It’s weighted so I feel like that comforts them. Also like the Halo lightweight ones that wrap around their body but you can do arms out. Good luck!!
About the swaddle situation, I'm not sure if he usually flips over now in the sleep sack, but we laid our son down on his tummy as soon as he flipped over and he didn't wake up like that anymore. I think that kind of ties in with what you mentioned Julia of having something in his hands, that kind of takes care of it because he might take his hands really close to him :) Also we did let our son cry it out at some times eventually too and he even now at 17 months still sleeps about 12 hours and 2 hours during the day. I would not change a thing☺good luck with the transition 🤍
Try the baby Merlin sleep suit it did wonders for my second child makes them feel snug and they look adorable in the suit or try the dreamland sleep sack 😊
Can’t recommend Taking Cara Babies enough for sleep training! I was so hesitant. Within one week of the program our 5.5 month old was settling himself to sleep in under ten minutes. We knew he was developmentally there. We had the same swaddling experience as you with rolling over one night being swaddled. Some nights there is no crying at all. He went to bed the other night in four minutes with no crying - it’s such a relief to have him get himself down. He’s an all arms baby too haha. Love seeing your little guy grow!
I know this is random and not on the Vlog topic. But I have been going through pet loss, and it brought me back to when you had to say goodbye to Goose. How do you move on without being sad everyday? I’ve been struggling. Watching your video helped me relax for a moment but still feeling anything but happy.
Hi Julia ! I hoping if you could link the cute Jean jacket you wore on your birthday get away 🥰 thank you for always taking time to share and love watching your guys videos ❤
Girlll, I had the exact same thing as Hunter, I had it for 2 weeks before I went to urgent care to get something because I couldn’t do it anymore, I ended up getting the same meds plus an antibiotic for pneumonia as well! I finally feel back to normal I hope he feels better soon! And of course they have no idea what it was but I never get sick so it definitely is something bad going around. And I’m totally with you on the momma being tired part, I do think it’s time to sleep train. I never thought I’d let my little one cry it out either but omg when you see the results lol it’s such a big difference and they get good rest also, as well as you. So it’s worth it all around. Sending you guys hugs! Loved the video! 🥰
Look into the taking care of babies ABC sleep training class. Also the weighted sleep sack. I think they have one with sleeves. That might help him with his arms. My baby is a week older than smoke and I did the taking care of babies class when I moved him to his crib.
I can empathize with just the overwhelm of what you do! Comments and social media is just a crazy amount of noise, so making space for yourself to be grounded is so important. Glad you’re doing that for yourself! ❤

Well said and agree 100%
@@ksan935 people like you shock me. As if mothers don’t know to do that. Clearly we check in on the baby, they aren’t left for dead.
Awww,I’m so happy hearing that smokes fell asleep after six minutes! Everything’s a learning experience. 🥰
Can you all do a homegoods shopping trip video soon? I literally love that
Juj I totally hear you!!! I actually find it so inspiring that you are able to continue to be yourself in these vlogs and keep putting them out there while having to read so many opinions on them. Hi Julia,
We used the nested bean swaddles, they have different ones for stages and moms on call for routine / schedule. Our four year old and 1 year old sleep 7pm to 6:30-7am.
Here for Juj’s OG STYLEEEEE!!!! That’s why I love you so much & love that you chose the snake skin boots 👩🍳🤌🏼
Smoke is growing up so fast.
Soon you'll have to make room for him when he pushes the walker.

So exciting for you guys this holiday season. Beautiful dog and precious son. Make those memories. ❤
It's giving "I don't know what I'm doing so I threw on a blazer" 😂 felt that lol. Love the styling sesh with Hunter!
When Hunter is unboxing his sneakers i just die at smokie and bookie sitting there with dad. You guys are so stinking precious, glad you’re back 😍😍
Also- thank you for sharing the real mom stuff with us. I moved right after by baby was born and you are my only mom friend lol. You make me not feel so alone and I am so thankful for you. So happy y’all are back!! Y’all are just the best. Don’t listen to the negativity❤ Y’all are incredibly special
What item are you using for this result? Sounds awesome
The face wash and moisturizer she had in the video a few videos ago. It’s just the normal products, no special serum or anything
The dreamland baby weighted transition swaddle really helped us
That outfit u wore to event is SO STUNNING ! Girl u are so pretty 😍😍😍

I love yalls tattoos! they are so cute and so thoughtful and the fine line is amazing!!!
Never change for anyone Juj. Your style and uniqueness is why I love you❤
Love the new tattoos! Where are your earrings from when you were buying the Bottega bag?
I can't wait to see your christmas tree!
Absolutely love your little fam, authentic, genuine and a WHOLE VIBE 🤌.
Can i ask where your cherub baby longsleeve is from at the end of the video please ❤❤
Smoke in his little activity seat is the best. I’m in love with that beautiful baby boy, so precious. 💕

Julia, I love your take on your link to spirituality when it comes to your body telling you that you need rest. I truly believe that as well.
Dreamland baby transition swaddle is a game changer! It helped my baby sleep so much better!
We used the zipadee star thingy and it was a wonderful transition. We did it with both grandbabies but a lovey also helps immensely.
Omg! MERLIN SLEEP SUIT! My daughter was the same and this was the best tradition for her! Used it for like a month! GAME CHANGER!
Smokers! Look at you, you are growing so fast. Is Smokie trying to look a little like Hunter too? What a sweetheart. Hunter, I hope you're on the mend now, and feeling much better. Julia you looked gorgeous in you're event pose. You guys are such an adorable family.♥♥

I love the way booker is involved even checking out the new shoes
The snake skin boots was the move! Love love love!
I legit had the same thing Hunter had for like 2 weeks. Negative everything but I have never felt that sick before. Hope he feels better soon!!!
Loving the new hair!!!
we had the same issue with a 4 month sleep regression! def do just cold turkey kyte sleep sacks and we ended up gentle sleep training with taking cara babies took 3 days for us. best advice music & headphones and distraction (folding laundry) while watching the monitor like a hawk. i couldnt hear him cry even for a few minutes so it l helped us get through the rough few nights. i recommend the 2.5 tog kyte it kept our son more snuggled (we trained during colder months too). and we kept his room at 70-72 degrees he slept longer with the room being less cool!

I just transitioned my little boy. I used the halo sleep sack swaddle 3-6 months. He liked it because you can still swaddle his body but not his arms! That’s really worked for us!
I just love the Havens fam! So sweet! Smokers you are the most perfect addition little man💕
diapers in the bottega like okay QUEEN!
I’m digging the green vest on you and that bag color!! Also you’re gold earnings!! Where are those from ❤

Hii! Julia could you please do a try on of the pink matching boys lie set form the last vlog!! I think I need it lol
Thank you!!!🩷🩷🥰
Love the Zippadee sleep sack! It still covers their hands and they’re safe to roll over in it. That has really helped my baby with the transition!
Good luck!!
Proud of you Mama!! Never say never when it comes to parenting 😂❤
Merlin magic sleep suit!!! The best thing ever. Saved us when we had to transition out if a swaddle.
Can't wait for your Christmas vlogs 😊
you’re doing amazing juj! my husband and i love watching y’all’s videos 🤍
Julia' stay your authentic self in all you do!❤❤❤😘
About the swaddle situation, I'm not sure if he usually flips over now in the sleep sack, but we laid our son down on his tummy as soon as he flipped over and he didn't wake up like that anymore. I think that kind of ties in with what you mentioned Julia of having something in his hands, that kind of takes care of it because he might take his hands really close to him :)
Also we did let our son cry it out at some times eventually too and he even now at 17 months still sleeps about 12 hours and 2 hours during the day. I would not change a thing☺good luck with the transition 🤍
Try the baby Merlin sleep suit it did wonders for my second child makes them feel snug and they look adorable in the suit or try the dreamland sleep sack 😊
As far as the sleep training, we LOVED Taking Cara Babies! My now 8 month old has been sleeping 12 hours straight since she was 5 months.
you guys should get a towel warmer outside for after the cold plunge!!! ❤
Always so happy to watch your vlogs love you guys!🩷🩷🩷
Can’t recommend Taking Cara Babies enough for sleep training! I was so hesitant. Within one week of the program our 5.5 month old was settling himself to sleep in under ten minutes. We knew he was developmentally there. We had the same swaddling experience as you with rolling over one night being swaddled. Some nights there is no crying at all. He went to bed the other night in four minutes with no crying - it’s such a relief to have him get himself down. He’s an all arms baby too haha. Love seeing your little guy grow!
Got further in the vlog - so proud of you for letting him get himself down! Good for you!!!
I know this is random and not on the Vlog topic. But I have been going through pet loss, and it brought me back to when you had to say goodbye to Goose.
How do you move on without being sad everyday? I’ve been struggling.
Watching your video helped me relax for a moment but still feeling anything but happy.
the magic merlin suit saved us after swaddling!! 🙌
Juj you do you!! your style is always on point. You are such a good Mama !!
I love the Juj and Hunter style sessions 😍 Julia can rock anything!
Hi Julia ! I hoping if you could link the cute Jean jacket you wore on your birthday get away 🥰 thank you for always taking time to share and love watching your guys videos ❤
The halo you can do a one hand transition. Keep one hand out for the swaddling.
