Community day hype! Successful day for most even with the issues. I have was having major problems with lag in the game and different errors (it said one of my shinies ran, but I actually caught it) but ended up with 12 shinies and a shiny Shellder so I'm happy :)

I had a great community day. First larvitar I clicked on was shiny ✨. Nick, this was a great video about the Go community. Always nice to see your sweet family. I appreciate that you addressed the terrible things that are happening now in your country. I’m horrified about how family’s and especially children are treated.
I'll tell you right now dude, I saw 150 Larvitars, and I got 0 shines. At the last minute , I found one that was shiny and crit caught it. But the game gave me a non shiny. Very much disappointed.

That's pretty unlucky. I only found 1 shiny with bad IVs but I was happy to get the candies. Sadly of the 3 Tyranitars I evolved, 2 glitched and didn't give me the smack down moveset (one bite, one iron tail). I managed to get the third working after restarting the app at least but it was my worse one.
well thats about as bad as finding a shiny a minute before the event should end then it fleeing because the game de-spawned all of them in mass.

Sir Gillium 4 Larvitar. They were boosted. I found out about prodigies nation trick to catch pokemon quicker without going through the animation. It allows for catching as many as possible without wasting time.

I bet the 1/450 is actually 1/512 like the dex nav and friend safari from X/Y and OR/AS. I could see them making it that to stay with the odds of some main game features.

J Piper huh I always thought it was the 1395 without and 512 with the shiny charm for dex nav. I must be lucky then since I usually get a lot of my dex nav encounters in around 200ish encounters.
1/512 is the odds of hatching a shiny with the Masuda Method in combination with the Shiny Charm I believe

I rarely comment on youtube videos, but I wanted to say that I appreciate your comments on immigration. It must take a lot of conviction to come out to your audience and talk about stuff like that. I got a total of 8 shiny larvitars and 4 of them were within a few minutes of each other. It was CRAZY. Also participated in two legendary raids with the most people I’ve seen so far. So much fun

Love all of the videos. Always have, always will. I hope me saying this doesn't result in a block, but I feel a need to at least attempt to engage in a dialogue regarding the issue at the end of the video. Regardless, I have a few things I want to mention.
Every single country in the world including the vast majority of First-World countries has borders and enforces immigration policies through screenings and other such things. Even though there are people seeking asylum in the US, we are not obligated by law to accept them without first running some sort of background check to ensure that they are speaking the truth. I am fully in support of people entering this country when they are fleeing their own, but there is only so much that the US can do to speed up this process given the number of people applying for asylum. There are some kinks that need working out in the system, but this is not enough reason to allow everybody who says they are seeking asylum to enter the country without any screening.
Regarding the comparison to Nazi Germany: That's incredibly insensitive and seems purposefully incendiary. Nazi soldiers would literally go to homes and either kill people or round them up into internment camps where they were killed and starved by the government that they held citizenship under. People seeking asylum are neither citizens nor in danger of being killed by ICE and the like. The only risk of death is if they go all of the way back to their home country. To compare this risk of death with almost certain death in Nazi Death Camps is to belittle the atrocities that TRUE nazis/fascists committed. Comparing anybody right of center in politics to Nazis is disingenuous, as it's just as easy to do the same to the other side through things like speech/thought policing.
Finally, the crux of the issue: separating children from parents. Think of any Felony or Misdemeanor in the US, then think of a parent committing that crime. That parent will be jailed, and separated from their family until the prison sentence is over. This leaves the US with few options: separate the parent from their child(ren), put the child(ren) in prison with the parent, or let the parent walk free after committing a Felony or Misdemeanor. None of these options are very good, but there's one important thing among all of this: The point of placing a person in prison is not to separate them from their family, it's to put them in a place where they can pay for their crimes. Now, I know that it may seem to some that these people are not committing crimes, but that's actually false, no matter which country they go to. It's a difficult situation with a deep level of nuance that many people don't appreciate.
Thanks for bringing this issue up in your video, and thanks for the disclaimer prior to it. I will never be deterred from watching your content, and I hope that I don't get blocked for it, and I hope to start a civil dialogue if anything.
Tom R I do believe this is the best comment on here. Thank you for your thoughtful and tolerant comment. I think that when people compare what is happening to Nazi Germany, it is because we are all worried that it could go that direction easily. I don't really think that the current situation could be compared to the atrocities in Nazi Germany, however those atrocities started small. It is definitely something we should be wary about.

(I'm responding to Tom) I do agree with everything stated above about how parents can lose their children for commiting a crime, but if the parent is just being deported and not jailed, why not allow the children to go back with their parents? You can separate the child during the prison sentence, but from what I've seen the parents dont ever get their children back and I think that's the major issue.

@Wesley Vansteenburg I don't know where that info is coming from, but to my knowledge, the average stay in one of these facilities is less than 24 hours, and the children are immediately reunited with their parents when the court proceedings have concluded and they are sent back.

I'm pretty sure the ones seeking for asylum in the US were already there and have no other choice to stay with their families. I'm live in Mexico City and have many relatives living in the States. Some of them have become legal over the yearsdue hard working and giving no troubles. But, as soon as they settle, more family follows the same path. It's endemic. Many of them don't even need to go to your country. But they do because working as a dishwasher in Palo Alto California pays better than studying 20 years to become a surgeon in Mexico. That's the reality.
Almost all of these folks are migrants from further south.
Even if you believe you need to deny asylum to someone, doesn't mean you need to break up a family.
Second rate nepotism and competing drug market, both which lay in bed together. Druggies gotta gave their high.
However, most come from South America and even Mexicans don't like them.
It seems that I always have to work during events like this, oh well.

Respectfully … Your message needs to be, and this is important for those seeking asylum, if they come through a port of entry and are seeking asylum their children will not be separated from them. If they cross over illegally they can expect to be separated from their kids. With all of the human trafficking going on there is no way to know who is actually here w/their own children, or who has used a stolen child (and for what purpose) to get into this country.
IF a person is seeking asylum here and go through a port of entry they will not be separated from their children. If they cross illegally there is no guarantee they will remain with the children they’ve crossed with.

Eric Harper oh I do, I pay attention, but my opinion and view point is much different. I have friends and family that work in the fields. I live in a Comunity with immigrants all around, my opinion of them is not one that wants them here.
