@aloyfreE almost all problem of air not buildup is air leak, otherwise check the air compressor pipe, disconnect the air compressor pipe connected to the air dryer valve and close using your hand, if you can stop the air flow from the pipe using your hand, then you have a defective compressor then you need to replace it.
