FYI: Gemerl got the gliding ability first because they wanted to test it out on a different character and make sure it works properly before adding it to a core character like Knuckles. If this experiment is successful, they will give Knuckles this ability too in a future update. This was explained by a moderator in the official Discord server for the game.
But getting chocla will bring you up to 2 star with the cheese chao if they were for the event and even if they weren't they could fuse the red hero chao max them out and add to fused red hero chao max level plus the chocola chao and can get 2.2

to do it i recommend you using cyclone hoverboard or it will get ruined once you did it go to auto run press yes once the screen shows spam hoverboard button that’s all!

short simple, yet gamechanging event they should keep going like this, abd they need to add the glide abiltiy to rouge, tails, knucks and a few more
i would say rouge knux silver maybe shadow but tails needs his own type of slower flight where he gets tired after a while
