    I didn't realise smaller mobile phones were becoming a thing again. Kind of reminds me the miniaturisation craze of the very late 90s-early 2000s, just before the need for more functionality caught on.

      Indeed. I remember phones being so small that they would just about cover your ear.

    In my opinion, this is the best small screen phone. Finally an update on the Unihertz Atom L.

    I love my Unihertz Jelly 2. Just got a jelly star. Awesome mini phones and work great.

      Unihetz seem to make a few unique cool little phones. Saw an interesting on on Smores

      Except they never do security updates

    Very cool! I do a lot of work outside and need rugged devices with serious battery power. Still rocking a Ulefone 3W but would 100% consider this

    I do wish we saw more android devices with this screen size. I don't always need a mini tablet in my pocket... =_=

    • @RetroCore
      @RetroCore  8 месяцев назад +2

      I agree. Sometimes the large format is a bit too much.
      I love my Pixel 7 Pro and have no intention of changing it but now and then I'd like to use a smaller device. This Tank Mini 1 has served that purpose quite well.

    Does the phone support notification bulb? Does it support call recording?

    seems like great phone. i think i will consider swapping my atom l for this. :)

      I tried the jelly star and that was too small, i told myself if the came out with an updated 4" phone like the atom l i would go for it.

    The front camera was really realistic colours. Better cameras then most phones that aren't big names!

    • @RetroCore
      @RetroCore  8 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah, the front camera impressed. I wasn't expecting it to be that good.

    The Tank 2 is my favorite one. Unfortunately they didn't implement the projector very well (it's the same optical system of the Sony MP-CD1) and the sales fail

      Ah, that's the one I was thinking about looking at but it was out of stick.

    I really like screen size and features but it's just super thick. There's not going to be a phone holder available to securely hold this phone in a car.

    I kinda really want a phone like this, but I’d have to carry it in a holster with how bulgy it is.

  • @Mamiya645
    @Mamiya645 8 месяцев назад +3

    I'd love a modern capable touch-screen phone that I could use as a blunt object against an intoxicated assailant, just like my first ever phone, the Nokia 1610 with an expanded custom bulky af battery. I skipped that thing across a factory floor to pass it to someone - good old days!

    12:14 video clearly isn't the best on this. the brightness seems to flicker a bit which is probably because of the automatic exposure.

    • @RetroCore
      @RetroCore  8 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah, video wasn't great but for stills I think it preformed quite well.

    So actually that laser was only thing that this has what most modern phones does't have? That video was way too shaky for my taste =(

    • @RetroCore
      @RetroCore  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, video quality when walking is quite shaky and the mics could be better but for stills it take quite nice pictures.

    Last time I checked, Unihertz didn't do any android security updates to their phones. That put me off.

      Do they have an unlocked bootloader like the Google Pixel series? If so, you could just flash a more secure OS onto it.

    Very nice phone, bit expensive to import into the uk though. £400 for the device then vat and import duty on top is a tad too much for my moth filled wallet unfortunately.
    Wonder what the battery life is?

    • @MASViper
      @MASViper 8 месяцев назад +2

      Well, 5800mAh on a G99 phone with 4.5 inch screen? Probably a day with heavy usage.

    • @RetroCore
      @RetroCore  8 месяцев назад +2

      It's got a 5000 plus battery so it will easily get through the day.

  • @gkholmes
    @gkholmes 8 месяцев назад +1

    How is the battery life on this phone?

    • @RetroCore
      @RetroCore  8 месяцев назад +1

      It depends upon the user. I got two and a half days out of it but then again I also get two days out of my Pixel 7 Pro.

    Kids love mini tank. Small size for small hands. But, best of all: laser! So they could point it in each others eyes (we're being edgy!), eyes of random people, but motorists especially😈😈😈

    We need smaller phones, women are 52% of the population but all the phones are made for mans hands and pockets its really annoying trying to find a phone that fits in my back pocket and can be used one handed.

      But I cannot fathom why modern smartphones all became "phablets" some years ago.
      The iphone 4S was petfectly fine for everything I needed and I could still type well.

    Very durable hardware, but I think that it's software will become obsolete sooner, like all the Android devices... Like the terminator T-800 😂
