I forgot my code I was thinking about replacing it cause is easier to open it with the code but I found this video; dude!! Thank you for taking your time to make this video you save me some money 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏🙏
Thanks for the kind words. We lost her to lung and bone cancer on may 24th this year. Happened to be mother's day. I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy.
Thanks my dude! Someone gave me one of these they lost the key to, and forgot the passcode. They needed the contents out and said I could have the safe afterwards. I tried over 20 common passcodes with no luck. After watching your video I had an idea. I got a flashlight and a wooden dowel, and used the dowel to reach in through the back holes, pop open the battery area and push the reset button! Surprisingly they let you reset the code with the door closed haha. I reprogramed the code, gave them their files and now I have a free safe!
Thank you so much for this!! Mine accepts the reprogramming code however the red and yellow blinks when I’m entering the code and it doesn’t open 😢 any suggestions or idea to why that is?
Thx Rob, this was very helpful! If we have guests using the condo and they want to put in a new code do they also have to do this or is there another way to change the code easier? Thx, Jim 😊
I have one of these safes in the condo that I purchased a few years ago. The previous owner passed away. When I moved in, the safe was unlocked and the key was inside. Covered it up with a picture and mostly forgot about it until recently. Decided I wanted to see if I could set a new code for it and found your video. Unfortunately, when I touch the little reset button with the key on it, nothing happens. The other keys seem to work and do beep when I touch them. I did have to replace the batteries and there was a good deal of corrosion in the battery compartment so I wonder if that may have damaged the reset button. Any ideas? Thanks.
Yeah it’s possible the battery corrosion may have affected it. How bad is the corrosion? Is it just on the battery springs? Or has it covered most of the compartment/ gotten on the reset key? Did you use a good brand of batteries when replacing them? Some of the cheap batteries can be pretty weak, even when brand new. Lastly I would make sure you press down fairly hard on the reset button to see if you can get any response as maybe the battery corrosion affected the connection but you may be able to get it to work slightly if you ensure a very firm press. If not you may be out of luck and may try reaching out to the manufacturer as a last resort to see if they could assist at all. Best of luck!
@@RobSomeKnowledge Thanks for your reply. The corrosion seems to only be on the negative battery coil on the side of the compartment closest to the password reset button. There wasn't really even that much of it. I cleaned most of it off with some alcohol and a cotton swab. I also tried using a Duracell battery whereas the first time I used a generic one. I've pushed the button as hard as I possibly can, and nothing. I suppose at this point the only solution is to contact the company and possibly pay a technician to take a look at it and see if it can't be fixed. Not sure I'm really going to do that though. At this point I'll probably just cover it back up with the picture and forget about it again. Oh well. 🤷♂️
I don't have this safe anymore, but from what I remember, the code should stay in for a little while, but if reprogramming yeah you can use the same code.
I dont have that safe, but after some research it says there should be a red button somewhere inside, it may not be labeled as "reset", do you see this button?
@@RobSomeKnowledge I looked inside & finally found the button on the hinge side of the door. After pressing, I entered 17500 which I was told is the factory code, and it worked! Thanks very much
If the lights aren’t coming on then it sounds like your batteries are super dead. Normally they will tell you when they are getting low with the red color led. You’ll have to open it up with the backup key and replace the batteries.
My key pad didn't work, removing 3 screws on the inside panel found a flat plastic connection had come apart I just pushed it back in and now keypad works
Only thing I could think of would be if you still had the key inserted in the unlocked position, other than that if i remember correctly even with dead or low batteries, it should lock back when you turn the knob
Mine wouldn't open with right combination, even after reset. Turned out I needed to replace batteries, then I could rest/open the safe. All light and beeps happened, but not enough juice to move the solenoid to open safe.
I no longer have this safe, but if I remember correctly, that is a low battery issue. Do you have fresh batteries in it? Are they disposable one time use batteries, or rechargeable?
My safe I replaced the batteries. I left the door open and locked. My safe doesn't have the pounds or tic tac symbol. I see the reset button inside. I opened and closed too many times. How do I reset it?
Are you using the actual safe in the video? SentrySafe brand. My old code always got wiped when reprogramming a new one. That’s weird hmmm I’m not really sure
Thank you! This was exactly what I needed for my mom’s new safe. How do you know when to change the batteries? This one is missing the manual. EDIT: i put fresh batteries, but the key pad still isn’t working. This is actually what happened to my mom’s original one. Any idea what to do? I have the keys for this one
Sorry I am just now seeing this. But if you have brand new batteries in and its still not working then the keypad probably isn't working anymore. You could try to contact the company and see if they can help you, or just use it as a key-only safe.
Bro I just entered wrong password of my office safe same as this I know the password but it’s not opening So how long I need to wait now Now even I use proper password it’s not opening plz tell me how long I need to wait I need it very badly 😢
If youre 100% sure its the right code, and still not opening, its probably the batteries too low to unlock it. Youll have to manually unlock it and replace the batteries
I like my towels rough and my information fast.
Thank you for articulating clearly. I can’t stand most youtube videos when Im trying to learn.
Definitely appreciate the clean and QUICK nature of this vid. Great job and Thanks!

Thanks for the help. My mom passed and she always used the keys but i wanted a code too. Such a helpful video.
Aw, sorry to hear about that

Fabulous, Rob…! Simple and easy instructions.
Thank you very helpful my safe was locked for years. Due to battery's inside falling out of place from moving👍🏿
Thank you very much. Much easier than trying to understand the paltry instructions. This was very helpful. 🙂
Thank you! You made it simple to understand

Hahah there ya go! Very nice!!
Thank you! The company wanted to charge me $45 to send me a new code! I owe you.
Oh dang wtf. That’s crazy. All you owe me is a like on the video 😁
Thank you soooo much.. thought my passport was gonna be held hostage since I forgot the old code 😊
Luved it and it actually worked. Forget to tell us that u should close reset button/battery slide?
Thank you so much I have this exact safe so it was perfect the way you simply just laid it out on how to do it without any extra BS
Glad I could help you my guy!
Thanks for helping us to reprogramming our sentry safe 💖
Omg I have been meaning to figure this out for years. Thank you. #success
thank you so much for this helpful information 🙏
It worked nice explanation right to the point. Thanks
Wow, worked perfectly!! Thanks!
I pressed the reset and it worked!
Thank you very much!!
Needed help! Thanks.
Thank you for this it helped alot
Hi Rob! Thanks for helping me re-program my Sentry Safe..I subscribed to your channel😁
Awww thanks! I’m glad I could help you out and that means a lot!!
Thnaks so much for sharing this appreciate
Thanks for the help
Thankyou so much it worked for me!!
Thanks much! Cheers!

Sounds like low batteries most likely
@@RobSomeKnowledge It’s batteries but I’ll try a new set and see.
Great, thank you so much!!!
Thx Rob, this was very helpful! If we have guests using the condo and they want to put in a new code do they also have to do this or is there another way to change the code easier? Thx, Jim 😊
Unfortunately with this specific safe, this is the only way.
@Rob Some Knowledge okay thanks so much Rob.
Thanks!
Thank you so much

Hey Rob!!!! Where have you been? Glad you're back😏
Just been busy with work and life. I really need to get on a daily posting schedule and I’m trying to.
Can you use the “star” button on the left hand side of the 0 as part of your custom combinations or can it only be numbers?
I don't have this safe anymore, but I'm pretty sure you can't, I believe it has to be just numbers
Thank you
When you change battery’s do you reprogram it, if so can you use same code?
I don't have this safe anymore, but from what I remember, the code should stay in for a little while, but if reprogramming yeah you can use the same code.

great but I have a V260 model. I don't see a reset button inside. Thoughts?

Hi Rob, so i tried to change my code just like in your video and now it won't open nor the lights go on. What can I do?
If the lights aren’t coming on then it sounds like your batteries are super dead. Normally they will tell you when they are getting low with the red color led. You’ll have to open it up with the backup key and replace the batteries.

Can you tell me which keys you have... because I lost my keys and I need to buy another one but I don't know which key it is.. please
Its the ones that came with the safe, idk if you can buy them separately

Will the over ride key delete the previous code
Yes, I covered that in the video
I did what you said but as soon as I hit a number a red light comes on and stay on and won’t let me reprogram.
I no longer have this safe, but if I remember correctly, that is a low battery issue. Do you have fresh batteries in it? Are they disposable one time use batteries, or rechargeable?
What does it mean when the middle red light is on with the other amber light?
It means the batteries are low and need to be replaced
What model is this?
X075
Thx
My safe I replaced the batteries. I left the door open and locked. My safe doesn't have the pounds or tic tac symbol. I see the reset button inside. I opened and closed too many times. How do I reset it?
Depends on what kind of safe it is? What’s the make and model?
It's A SENTRY SAFE EF4738E. I have the code # but somehow it got locked.
👍😎👍
I have reprogrammed my safe but the old code still works. How do I delete old code?
Is it this same exact model safe? Because the old code shouldn’t stay. It never did with mine
Same issue with mine… the old code still works
Are you using the actual safe in the video? SentrySafe brand. My old code always got wiped when reprogramming a new one. That’s weird hmmm I’m not really sure

Same thing happened to mine, try cleaning the battery connections on the safe. Mine were corroded and once I cleaned them it worked again.
What if I only have a prog button and no pound sign
Is it a Sentry Safe?
What if you no longer have the key either but the safe is already open
Then the same process applies as shown in this video
I lost my key but left it open. You can still reset the code with it locked and no key
Yep!!!
Btw almost all sentry safes work like this to change the code so
Didn't work for me is still open as no matter what code you put on it
It stays open?
@@RobSomeKnowledge I finally got it to work got code changed and all works good. Thanks for your advice ☺️
