The thing I don't think ppl remember is that back in ch1, mainly ch1 s9 and sX so many individuals were saying that the map was too much and that it was "cluttered" or "a big mess" and so that's one of the main reasons ch2 came out like it did... and it makes so much sense... they decided that it might be a risky idea to make the ch2 map turn out like the ch1 map because of their backlash. And though I wish that hadn't been the case, I don't think it's fair to treat the map like some type of excuse of a map, like epic didn't have a general plan for it.
Edit: I also don't understand how you could possibly consider ch2 season 3's map bad. Yes it was flooded, but due to that... literally every POI recieved changes to some degree.

Hi, I left the OG 2 reply. I wasn't able to go as in depth as I wanted to because of discord's Character Limit, so I can explain my thoughts here more. I enjoyed OG because of the map an loot pool. It wasn't nostalgia, although it was a very small part. I was actually much more active in the community during Chapter 2 than I ever was in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 was Chapter 1s gameplay (which while alright, later Chapters improved it masivley) on a map that was very boring and forgettable. I loved OG because it was everything I loved about Fortnite. Chapter 3's movement with the OG lootpool on the OG map. Personally, I don’t need another OG. OG worked because it brought back the most iconic parts of the game while still feeling fresh and Original. OG2 just isn’t going to be able to do that. With Chapter 2, I was bored out of my mind every season I played, because that first season was just boring, Season 6 had almost no updates, and was pretty much the same from start to end. With season 8, I hated the map layout, and until practically the last few weeks the map was identical to the previous season, just uglier, and while the live even was fun, I did not enjoy the majority of the season. While I did enjoy Seasons 4, 5, and 7, I found the other three seasons to be so bad that it outweighed it. I’ve found that while story and live events were peak, the gameplay just wasn’t that good. I mean, just taking a look at the maps. Going from 6 to 7 changed nothing. The only difference between the two maps are the spire. While they destroyed POIs throughout the season, that arguably made the map worse by removing all of the interesting POIs like Slurpy. While I do remember the discourse surrounding the map, it was much different than the discourse surrounding Chapter 2. Chapter 2 was much more about the lack of updates (remember, in Chapter 1 there were weekly updates compared to the bi-weekly updates of Chapter 2), and the lack of variation. With Chapter 1, people were mad about how cluttered it was and their favorite POIs getting replaced. Even comparing the two maps, Chapter 2’s map is very flat and has very little POI variation, compared to Chapter 1 where almost every POI was unique. I think there are some elements of Chapter 2 that worked, but most of the stuff that did work aren’t things that can come back, because they aren’t gameplay. You can’t retread the same story and the same crossover’s and the same events and expect them to work, but those were the best parts of Chapter 2 and why many liked it. I don’t really care about having a permanent Chapter 1, I would love it, but I do wish that there would be a permanent map with the OG art-style, weapons, and variation. Also, I should not have said what I did about season 3, that was my bad, I didn’t play the season, I was just trying to respond. What I meant though was that it wasn’t visually interesting, and about halfway through the season the map was identical to the previous season, just worse.

for me personally, i will be playing chapter 2 OG because i personally enjoyed that chapter, However obviously, not a lot of people enjoyed chapter 2 but we will just have to wait and see what it holds

I never played chapter 1 until of season and of season was one of my favorite seasons. I'm exited for of chapter 2 because I didn't play chapter 2 and I want to try it

As some one who started playing in C2S1. C2S1 was really bad, the map was got boring after awhile and BP sucked.
Every other season of C2 was great! Me personally, i like the later C2 seasons (C2S4-C2S8).
And every season after that i've enjoyed (yes, i liked C3S3 and C4S3). But i HATE C2S1!!!

That would be cool if ranked and tournaments have different loot pool than normal games I just had a thought if they do that I bet there would still be people in both competitive and regular non competitive complain that the stuff is stupid no matter what we want and no matter what epic does to me people will still be mad no matter what we or they do
fortnite doesnt feel soulles, i played today, and i had a blast. its still a great game. the once who complain are in my perespective pessimists who cant be happy

When I said soulless, I meant it felt less like fortnite and more like a generic corporate made cash grab, especially with the small changes with the font and UI

There definitely are a good chunk of people like that. But there are a lot of people who don't like this season for good reason.

Hopefully when they bring chapter 2 back, they keep all the map changes at the same time instead of getting rid of it after each week like they did for each season of chapter 2 (assuming map changes follow the format as Fortnite OG)

I personally think Chapter 2 was way better than Chapter 1. At least the earlier seasons. Seasons 2-5 and maybe even 7 were some of the best Fortnite seasons IMO.
Also epics metaverse is more trying to build itself as an empire to replace competitors that try to challenge them (Which are better than epic). So in the end, this metaverse is going to end up failing.
Personally now we have the choice to play lego..rocket race.. and festival.. would it not make sense to just an og mode in from solo.. to team rumble.. and just let players play if they wish to..

Hot take ch4 season og was a snooze fest i tried to enjoy it but most of the time i fell asleep or just closed the game in the middle of a match it wasn't fun people glaze it like crazy if you didn't play chapter 1. Season og wasn't fun it runs purely off nostalgia dont try to change my mind.

Thats going to be any season OG tbf, all they really aim for is a nostalgic throwback season. Epic games are just getting lazy with Battle Royale mode now and I wouldn't be surprised that the idea would get boring in the future.
Nostalgia definitely had a play, but man it was a well built season! Nothing wrong with disliking it though.
Honestly the big bang event was cool for og fortnite but it was really nothing then just a big Advertisement but I know we get mini events now but there just no the same man it doesn't feel special

in the part about chapter 2 he mentions how season 5 was the only good biome change, but really not even that was good, it nerfed the center of the map to the ground, there were only like 2 good locations but there was a lot of land with just nothing, and also the colosseum was kinda dookie. on top of that it was kinda just like they removed stark industries and spray-painted the map in a sand color because there were little to no actual biome changes, meanwhile in chapter 1 season 7 it didnt feel like they just spray painted snow everywhere, it felt like a whole new area. personally i think chapter 3 had the worst map evoluition. while it did get new biomes every season, none of them were good, the reality biome was ehh and the chrome SUCKED, and season 2 didn't really get a biome and yet the map changes were still mid. while chapter 3 did have a "unique" map and probably the best season 1 map ever, its evolution just wasnt good, while chapter 2 had bad evolution but at least not every change was bad (except primal and season 7, you could also argue maybe season 8 too). map evolution can also be limited though since for now on (probably) theres only 4 seasons to work with, so they can only evolve it so much. personally i think chapter 5 has done a good job at this because it already looks waaay different from the start and has gotten more diverse with actual (mostly) good changes, chapter 4 also did an okay job but the jungle biome wasn't great and some good locations did get nerfed nearly every season except the last.

I feel like fortnite needs to do something to make the main set of games feel detached from uefn and creative like i been saying if the do a rework on the ui and stuff it. Could be pulled off but as of right now its a. Little annoying confusing and overwhelming for me do swap between playing creative games and epic games and im not saying this cuz im new i been around for a lonng long while

Yeah that’s really pushing it story wise at that point just make OG a non-canon permanent mode that keeps frequently switches between seasons/chapters.
I have no idea how time travel is going to work for Chapter 2 OG but I’m assuming it’ll have something to do with Midas and the Shadow gang.

Casuals need to understand that balanced doesn’t have to equal not fun. If you have some skill than a balanced meta can be just if not more fun than a chaotic one
Problem is when they get "balanced" the items become unusable like the nitro fist they're still good but why do I need to wait 40 sec to wait for the nitro fist to recharge and the cars are unusable because you have the tow hook canon the tri beam laser rifle emps and the boss cars have the same amount of health as the normal cars so there is no point in getting I just get the medallion and get another car rather than the mythic car that's how bad the mythic cars are now.
@@NOTDNAOFDOOM you say the fists are unusable but they are still so much more op than the kenetic blade which everyone loved they have 4 charges can phase you through any wall 100% of the time and have the most broken melee attack of any movement item ever. The boss cars still have infinite nitro and infinite fuel. People say the comp players are crybabies when anything gets nerfed whatsoever the casuals come with pitchforks and say the season is ruined and the game will die.
@@boingbrennan3456 the kinetic blade was different mainly because you would travel more distance with the kinetic blade. Difference with the nitro fist is you only travel about 80 to 90 meters with the kinetic blade you'd travel 100 to 120 meters and the chapter 4 map wasn't too big and the nitro on the cars doesn't matter when the car gets disabled with the emp and it gets blown up what makes them worse is that you can't change the attachments on the cars so what's the point of infinite fuel if your car can get emp so really casual aren't wrong about competitive being crybabies. Hell they even complained about floppers giving 50hp need I say more?
Meant to say boss cars so when I say you cant change attachments on cars and the nitro which I meant to say infinite nitro I'm talking about the boss cars.
Honestly, the best loot pools are the well-balanced ones. Loot pools with too many OP items just get’s annoying, and loot pools with too many items that are underpowered are boring.

This community always had a bad reputation and it isn't going to change. Mainly because this community is made up of toddlers, teens, and crypto entrepreneurs who really all they do is eat epics words like slopp without thinking about stuff and doing research or even experimentation. Not to mention as well as even having short tempers.
Tbh, any chapter returning is better. As long it’s from 1-3 because those are the ones I love.

I personally don’t see OG Chapter 2 pulling in nearly as many players, but that’s why I’m so excited that they seem to be going for it instead of just doing the same, safe old thing as last year. Chapter 1 was great but had plenty of flaws, and Chapter 2 was the same. I just hope they give this the same level of care as they did the first OG Season so I can relive even more of my fondest memories.

I think the problem with the live events is when they feel like a giant advertisement for new game modes, the eminem event was exactly this an advertisment..
Personally i can't wait for og to come back as ive not liked alot of the new gimmicks added to the game...
The real problem with OG is the fact epic can just fall back on OG, if they release a bunch of awful seasons which looses players interest they can try to reel players back in .... but how long are they gonna stick around afterwards?
The meta-verse was the most expensive terrible idea they literally could’ve just brought back a bunch of game modes like imposters Foodfight and many other modes.
They should’ve just kept the old movement there’s no reason for new movement especially with the new hurdle system which is a lot more difficult we had mantle that was an easy system they could’ve just added climbing walls and it still would’ve been the exact same thing but you know epic currently rather than trying to be its own thing they wanna be in everything why am also not listening to the fan anyone who thinks that the meta-verse is going to save epic is a lost cause. A bunch of the modes barely stack to battle Royale players the only reason they brought back chapter 1 in a terrible way was because OG got popular

even main creative pretty much gets nothing except maybe a few prefabs every season and all of the guns that aren’t Collabs And we’re still missing a lot of weapons the meta-verse only took away from everything also live events were sidelined for people working on a game mode that barely gets any updates how much of chapter 4 and chapter 5 would be better if there were live events while the other game modes can be fun except festival even the storyline is garbage night exactly garbage but less impressive The only thing we have left is pretty much Jones no more imagined order no more seven which sucks
Sorry I need to get that off my chest but overall the seasons have been fun the new weapons are great and mainly weapons or fun to use the guns while they can feel very strange to use they work and do their job I like the interesting take for the season being wasteland which is perfect for fallout collab The consumables are interesting but I don’t like The thought that megalo don Will most likely get the same treatment as Zeus and kado
I personally like the idea that chapter 2 is coming back because that was my favorite chapter 1:21 I have to agree I think the event was fucking amazing was perfect 1:48 I have to agree in more ways then one
