Hi Cesar! I play on a James Pyne Bel Canto model mouthpiece with Vandoren Traditional and V12 reeds, strength 3.5. Thanks for watching!

How about working on reeds and I mean before you start breaking them in ?

    • @clarinetnotestudio4851

I suppose you could, but to be honest from my experience that usually trashes the reed. I would say the main thing that affects the reed is humidity and wetting/rewetting the reed. My teacher in college would expose his reeds to just his saliva for a week, wetting and rewetting, to give the reed a chance to adapt to the environment before playing. It's a process, but if you find a method that works well for you please share! Best of luck!

@@clarinetnotestudio4851 No you should. If it trashes the reed you are not doing it right. Not all reeds will be performance quality but 90% will be playable.
Balanced reed breaks-in more evenly, stays stable from day to day, lasts longer and you don't have to bite to compensate for one side vibrating slower than the other. Natural happy playing. And that's why I say stay away from asymmetrical mouthpieces

@@klarinetta This video is made by a World Class Player with decades of experience, she can quickly & accurately assess Reeds. Here she demonstrates this process - for free!!!
After your question she provides valid critique of your methodology, but goes on to say that you should do whatever works the best for you.
You keep explaining. But, by now, you should be making your own videos on the subject. I did check your account, so far I don't see any. I can't wait to see your clarinet content!
