    Those are not dried banana leaves as roof cover. Those are nipa leaves more sturdy than the soft banana leaves.

    Mergim -- I think the noodles you saw in the ice coconut bowl are actually strands of young coconut flesh. I could be wrong.

      Agree with you. Those are buko strands. That's what the 'noodles' look like and ,logically, would be found in a tropical coconut and ice cream concoction.

    It is a shredded young coconut (buko in tagalog/butong in cebuano) not a noodle.

    The roofing of the D’Mall stalls are made of nipa (mangrove palms) and not banana leaves. Banana leaves aren’t sturdy and cannot withstand being exposed to the elements.

    For breakfast try Sunny Side Cafe in Station 1 or try Cha Cha in station 2. For Instagrammable food , try cafe maruja in Station 3. They are all beach front . For coffee , try Real Coffee and try their calamansi muffin . Try cafe del sol. Try lazy dog in bulabog beach - Vietnamese coffee

      I was there for the first time in 1991. It was so pristine and the sands were powdery bluish white like sugar. Every structure was mostly made of nipa and from local materials, and very few. It was so quiet at night and the whole area was iluminated mostly by fire torch.. That was the Boracay i would like to remember. Today's Boracay is..... Garbage!

    Hi Mergim, am sure you're having fun in Bo-RA'-Cay (accent on the 2nd syllable not on the 1st syllable). BTW, those rooftops you pointed out are not made of Banana Leaves, they're made of NIPA Palms or Mangrove Palms and others use Cogon Grass. And you mistook the Shredded/Scraped Young Coconuts called BUKO for noodles. Noodles in the Philippines are not in any way ingredients for Sweet Desserts. Have fun!!!

      Boko Pandan is like a coconut fruit salad made with buko strips and Pandan flavored gelatin with sweetened milk cream. Buko Pandan is a Filipino dessert.

    Pandan used in making "Bayong" (the one you saw in Laguna) is different from the pandan used in food flavoring.

      I thought they are the same. But the one they use for flavouring are the small young ones. The big older ones are for weaving.

    It’s not banana leaves but made of nipa leaves the roof of the stores. That is the common roof of houses in the old days usually in the provinces.

    I remember your ferrys wheel ride in MOA where almost tried to touch ax switch on the AC but opted not to anymore as it might complicate and malfunction. You also had a ferris wheel ride in a small town I just couldn't recall. Hahaha

    Your laughter is infectious. I noticed it's your favorite to ride a ferris wheel. You are always with a happy attitude and a sunny disposition. Boracay is like Positano Italy with small shops and food stalls. The ice cream is delicious. Missing the foods. By the way you are good at shooting basketball. We are heading to the Philippines for business either this month or May this year. Will surely visit some of the places you recommended. God bless!
