Everything Led Zeppelin does is magnificent, with their several masterpieces. Each of the 4 members are the GOAT of their crafts, together they are The GODS Of MUSIC! Robert Plant’s amazing vocals puts these geniuses over the top, he uses them to suit each song perfect. Other bands have some great songs, but none compare to these guys. They performed 3 to 4 hour nonstop concerts, with true love & passion for their crafts. Keep diving down their amazing rabbit hole, you won’t be disappointed.
Back then being a "back door man" didn't mean what it does now. It meant that when her husband left through the front door her lover snuck in through the back door. Now "Imma give you every inch of my love." means the same thing no matter when he said it. hahahaha
Same here. I remember hearing this for the first time on my little transistor radio getting ready for school. Same with Immigrant song. When I was in high school I had all their albums and listened to the constantly. I'll be 68 this week and I still love me some Zeppelin. Still rocking.

its 3am and i just finished watching all your Led Zeppelin reactions, i have to subscribe to not miss out on anymore Zeppelin is rare that all 4 band members are masters of their craft, when you end up reacting to achilles last stand strap yourselves in and enjoy the trip
Imagine being 8 years old in a car with your mother and having this song come on the radio. The full, filthy, filthy, version. The definition of awkward. I knew it was all wrong, I just didn't know why at 8.
Your reactions are a blast to watch, the enthusiasm is palpable. Glad you're digging Led Zeppelin, check out deep cuts like the funky Out On The Tiles.
Saw Rev. Green with Jewel outdoors beneath the Sphere in Knoxville in '97? when she was killing it. HE really killed it. White tux, long-stemmed roses on stage that he'd throw to the women. In my top 10 shows since 1975. Lived in Memphis 5 yrs...my buddy went to his church and Reverend Al got revved up and sang some of "Take Me To The River ".
Boys, i saw Zeppelin in 1972 when was 21. Here in Perth in Western Australia. The concert ended with this song. Best concert ive seen, im 74 now and ive seen them all from the Stones to Neil Young to Dylan to Springsteen, Clapton, Dire Straits, Pink , Coc, BB King, Buddy Guy, Eagles, Ry Cooder, and many more. All great, fantastic, but Zeppelin were super powerful. Back door man is referred to in several great American songs over the 30s, 40s, 50s etc. Think of Howlin Wolf, who greatly influenced Zeppelin.
I just found your channel and I'm all caught up on your Zeppelin reactions. You should really start from the beginning with their first album, trust me. I forgot to say, you got a new subscriber as soon as I watched your first Zeppelin reaction, and I made sure to watch them in the order you posted them. Again, I highly recommend starting at the beginning of their incredible catalogue! They'll never stop surprising you! ☮️❤️
Try printing copyrighted text across the lives, then you won’t need to blur it, though we’ve seen them many times we still can watch too. Yes Robert Plant has the perfect vocals for this band, & he uses them perfect for every song. FYI: a back door man, is the lover sneaking in the back door, while the husband goes out the front door. Thank you guys, until the next Led Zeppelin reaction, every song is great.
Thanks for doing my pick! Zeppelin has been my favorite band since I first saw them live in 1972 and Whole Lotta love will be my favorite song of all time until I’m six feet under! Oh yeah!
I've been playing guitar for 57ish years. I play a Les Paul because of Jimmy Page. I play guitar because of Jimi Hendrix. Lucky for me that I got to see Zeppelin do that song live two times. 1975 and 1977 in Seattle.
@vicrodriguez8344 Very cool! Just curious if you saw McCartney and Wings in '76? I saw Wings in Seattle's old Kingdome in June '76 and they finished the tour with two nights at the Forum.
@@JimiBurleigh Fun story about how I got to see the Beatles... My mother MADE my dad take her to see Elvis when they were dating, he got jealous so he hated Elvis to the day he died. I was like 8 when I got home from school and there were 4 large posters in my room, one for every Beatle. She said she knew I liked them. After that she bought me a crap load of Beatle stuff. She even paid my uncle to take me to see them in 1966 at Dodger Stadium. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realize that SHE was the Beatles fan!!! Thanks mom for making me a fan for life.
@vicrodriguez8344 Awesome story 👍 I was raised in Ayrshire Scotland by Salvation Army parents. They thought rock&roll was literally the devil's music. And Blues music was especially demonic. They were so disappointed in me because I didn't join their church. But I have been to the actual Strawberry Field. It's still a Salvation Army property, but no longer an orphanage. I think it's a job training facility for young people. There's a Beatles souvenir shop and a memorial to John there. "Although it's just a memory Some memories last forever" #RushLyricsForEverything
When this song came out "your back door man" did mean you side piece. With Zeppelin you have jumped into the deep end there are so many songs. Just a few are Kashmir, Levee Breaks, Good Times Bad Times, Black Dog, Stairway to Heaven and many more.
Just for reference, back door Man didn't mean the same thing back then. If you were a backdoor Man you were coming in the back door when the husband was going out the front.
This was originally an R&B piece that was Zeppelinized. Check out the Small Faces version with Steve Marriot, who Robert Plant, apparently, used to try to emulate. Steve Marriot left Small Faces and started Humble Pie with a young Peter Frampton, who went onto stardom, after he left the band and went solo. Then soared into stardom over night, before his terrible car crash, with Frampton Comes Alive featuring songs like Show Me The Way, Do You Feel Like We Do, and Baby I Love You Way, which Big Mountain did a rendition of. Yeah, he was the side guy. That's what he meant by "I want to be your back door man", meant he came in the back door as her husband was leaving by the front door. This was an old saying from the early days of black blues music. "Black Dog" is another sexually charged song they did. A lot of suggestive lyrics.
"I wanna be your back door man" is a double entendre. The first meaning is what you think it is... The second is being the guy who slips out the back door when the lady's husband comes home and opens the front door.
Jimi Hendrix was a huge influence on the rock genre in 1967/ '68 for sure... Every guitar player looked at Hendrix and wanted to emulate him and his ability to make his guitar make sounds that had never been heard before. Jimmy Page, who was the guitarist of The Yardbirds in 1967, was one of those musicians who heard Jimi Hendrix and was inspired to go down that musical route in 1968 when he formed Led Zeppelin... In the studio, Jimmy Page was always experimenting w/ amps and mics to create sounds that were surreal on a record... and 'Whole lotta love' was recorded in 1969 for Zeppelin's 2nd album 'Led Zeppelin II'... and it became a huge single that year as the album went to #1 on the charts... By 1970, The Beatles broke up... Jimi Hendrix passed away, followed by singer Janis Joplin... then, Jim Morrison of The Doors... and Led Zeppelin were poised to become the biggest rock band of the 70's, surpassing The Rolling Stones and The Who in popularity.

Yep... like in "Since I've Been Lovin' You" where he sings "I open my front door, hear my back door slam."

Back door man ...not what you're thinking! It meant on the downlow going in and out the back door so the man of the house wouldn't know.
