I'm not understanding the supposed affordability. The side console is $21,500 without a trailer or trolling motor. You can get a Tracker 16SC with a 60hp, trailer, and trolling motor for $24,000. The Tracker is 2.5ft longer, 16" wider, and will hold its value way better. The old plastic Sundolphin 120 Pro was actually affordable at about $6000 with a trailer. Maybe this is why I have never seen a Polycraft on the water.
i seen those very basic boats, very cheap, almost no storage for being bigger, like think about it,this boat fits in a garage easier, it basically indestructible, what you get out of this is way more than what it cost, also have you check prices recently? take a trip by basspro shop, a skiff that would cost $16,000 a few years back now sells for 28k lol
Those are such cool little boats! If we were younger we'd probably have one like that. At our advanced age we're happiest with our Old Town Sportsman paddle kayak. Less upkeep to maintain during this age in our lifestyle. That said, that little boat scoots right along! Perfect boat for the right ✅ buyers. Glad to see a great little very affordable runabout that is super fishable too.
Noel, these are fun! and being a kayak angler I know the Plastic will last! and it is easy to repair! it this is also very strong high end plastic! I'm 99% convinced to get one! but that depends on how things go this week! wish me the best :)
i was living at remote area in papua-indonesia, am feeling lucky to have the smaller one (tuffy300) it's make my river fishing day on chasing papuan bass way better 👍
we have these at work, absolutely abuse them. throw scaffold equipment into them from height. literally 0 damage besides bending the metal rail. an ally or glass boat would be completely destroyed if we treated them the same. They are quite literally indestructible, big peace of mind in the ocean and around the reefs
I'm glad to see a plastic boat like this being produced. It's a logical progression that's honestly 20 years over due. Too bad the price is so high. Just for comparison. Less than 2 years ago I bought a 16' boat made from kevlar that came with a 60hp outboard and a trailer with other options and it was the same price.
@@AliexFolgueira I just priced that outboard. $5k. A good trailer is $2k which leaves $15k for the hull. That hull is made the same way kayaks are made and kayaks haven't gone up at all from what I've seen.

This price is pretty disappointing to me honestly. Imho, one of the biggest reasons to make boats from plastic is to lower costs compared to traditional fiberglass boat building and this price doesn't reflect that.
@@primate2744 you can get better built fiberglass boats, or small aluminum ones, and at 22k you can find used fishing boats under 28ft somewhat reliably
