I don't think anyone south of East Croydon would use this service into London as there are quicker services via New Cross Gate.

This is just one of the services that Southern has cut back this year in the London metro service area with this service now only operating between East Croydon and London Bridge. While this service was not essential for Caterham many of the Southern cutbacks mean shorter and less frequent trains on some routes, especially as the 455 have left Southern.

They should not have got rid of the class 455 as the Southern rolling stock is often shorter formed now as even when the extra class 377 from Southeastern with the class 313 likely leaving they will still have fewer carriages than before.

Southern could also of inherited the Class 387/3s to work alongside with the Class 377s and Great Northern to inherit the Class 379 from Greater Anglia and to work alongside with the Class 387/1.

Southern should of inhertited the Class 707s to work on the London Victoria/London Bridge-Caterham, Cattenham Corner, Epsom Downs and other suburban services in South London.
And to transfer the Class 377/3s to replace the Class 313 used on the East Coastway Line & West Coastway Line and the Bognor Regis, Littlehampton & Seaford branch lines.
