I heard this song in real life like 45 minutes ago 😂 i was soo so happy when they started playing at my band camp. I was littary so happy! Love rhapsody in blue
I always liked this piece. Usually these "medleys" are just one song after another. This one seams to be more thought out. Also Gershwin is awesome.
Go Gershwin!
This piece always reminds me of my freshman year in high school, when I played 2nd Alto Saxophone for it. That year was my first year in band and I had just learned saxophone. I was also thrown into the marching band and had to learn quickly. I hadn't gone to band camp. Thanks to the mentorship of my section leader and the support of the new friends I made, I learned how to play the saxophone, march, and read music and I got to march in the third movement of our field show. Later that school year my band director handed out this piece and told me to practice it because it was hard. So I practiced this more than any of the other pieces and I became really attached to it. My band director and first chair/section leader also let me play the saxophone solo which was such an amazing experience. A year later I am section leader and first chair. This piece means so much to me because it represents how much I improved and learned, and how hard I worked to get to where I am now.
Woah, that's awesome! Always strive to be the best musician you can be!
I'm playing this song this year!
I’m currently playing this in the adult community band I play with That’s a great story. I always believed music stores memories. Seeing how it’s been 5 years since that comment I hope you’re still playing your instrument in either college or a community band in your area.
@@Sky-gd7cw I'm actually a music major now :) studying bassoon performance and music education. My freshman year of highschool was definitely the biggest factor in me deciding to dedicate my life to music. I'm glad you have the opportunity to play this piece in a community band. I hope you enjoy it :)
This is a great thing and I can honestly relate except I play trumpet
