This never fails to make me cry and inspire me. I want to be an astronaut when I grow up, and I know the odds are stacked against me, but I will keep trying. This video helps me get so much inspiration and drive, I don’t ever want to give up. Thank you, David Peterson. Thank you so, so much.
They marked the beggining of something new, a new age for mankind. We finally had set foot on somewhere that isn't our planet. Can't wait to see how it will be with Mars.
I swear it really doesn't matter how many times I watch this video I get super emotional all the time. And I tell you it has been way more than 40. It's just so beautiful, perfect, grandiose, it's full of adventure, tragedy, awe, curiosity, ingenuity, effort, will and humanity. This is who we are, this is what we need to do, please be kind to everyone, please help each other, please understand each other. We can't afford being bad or mean, we are - by nature - good, kind, curious, adventurous and genius. This is where our place is, among the stars.
And this video is probably the main reason I WANT TO work for NASA or something. I want to do good to humanity, I want to be of use. If I ever contribute in any way to landing a human on Mars or something I would be the happiest man alive, and I'd feel my purpose has been achieved and my life is content and full.

The main reason I didn't in this video is that I'm not sure about copyright status for that footage. As far as I can tell, the Chinese government owns copyright for any media they release, so I'm not sure what the legal use is for that. I'm also an Australian, and our definition of "Fair Use" is more restricted than what is in the USA unfortunately. Actually the first cars in space were the apollo missions, and they were electric, solar, 2 passenger cars; carried with the LEM and are still on the moon right now
Hard to say exactly, since I collected the pieces over a year or so, but probably around three weeks of pretty solid work. That includes researching what events to include, finding footage for those events, checking licensing status of said footage, listening to a bunch of music tracks to find one that worked, doing the actual editing, polishing, etc....
Its crazy how in 1926, We launched a mini rocket not thinking that a few decades later it would be this massive project to take humans off of earth and onto the Moon and beyond.
Other than first dogs in space, first ICBM, first artificial satellite in orbit, first man in space, first woman in space, first spacewalk, first unmanned lunar rover, first space station, first photos from Venus, first launchpad explosion escape by cosmonauts, longest time spent in space by a human? Barely any Russian milestones at all... I did miss Luna 1, and I skipped the unsuccessful Mars missions. But I did try to be pretty fair.
I´ve seen this video maybe 10 times and I´am still impressed. It could have been little slower but still..... just AMAZING!!!!! And Musk is a real god in these days (2018)!!!!!

Thanks! It took a fair bit of work to get it all together, but worth it for the end result, I think.
Absolutely yes
@@DavidPetersonAU just out of curiosity, how long did it take to put it all together?
Hard to say exactly, since I collected the pieces over a year or so, but probably around three weeks of pretty solid work. That includes researching what events to include, finding footage for those events, checking licensing status of said footage, listening to a bunch of music tracks to find one that worked, doing the actual editing, polishing, etc....
I came to say today’s launch and everyone is already hear amazing.
SuN Lynx sorry to do this to ya but *here.
lol
The vibes this video gave me is insane, i always came back here after seeing this like 5 years ago on my old account
Same
whenever I look to the stars I always see how much humanity can do now and that just makes me smile
Same
*100 years from now, another person will make a video that will show infrastructural development in Mars.*
They will mention elon musk in same way this video has mentioned Van Brown and Korelov.. 😂
20 years*
@@amistrophy 20 year... Moon maybe, not Mars. But we will most likely land people on Mars in 20 years.
@@arachnid83 we'll see about that
Beautiful fantastic video... this deserves more views
Happy to watch this video again after 4 years...
Really nice video
Thank you for creating it, i hope i will watch it again in the future
Its crazy how in 1926, We launched a mini rocket not thinking that a few decades later it would be this massive project to take humans off of earth and onto the Moon and beyond.
This, is only a beginning
its one small step for a man. one giant leap for mankind
the music was beautiful!
Agree
It's called 'Human Legacy' if I'm not mistaken
@@rogerhow4945 That's right
Genuinely, this brings me to literal tears ever time. ❤. You made my life 100000 times better, I hope you know that.
truly one of the greatest videos of all time
Wow, thanks! I hope you were inspired to do great things
@@DavidPetersonAU yessir man, i watched this in 2018 when i was in 4th grade. im a freshman now and still obsessed with space. this was the gateway
Masterpiece!
How can you dislike this. This is inspiring. The music itself is also great
Bad. It makes it look american
I'm Australian, if that helps 🤷🏻♂️
@@spacedrone7819 probably because in a lot of the space explorations Americans had a hand in it so....
@@DavidPetersonAU don't worry the video was very nice for me😆😆
Starship first launch , Artemis 1 , JWST first photo.❤
This year is full of amazing things👍
It’s crazy that we have accomplished this much in under a hundred years.
I know right?
Very very nice: great video editing!
Only a bit too fast.
This deserves atleast a million views.....
Mohammad Warid no, a billion.
This is and will always be the best video on this platform
Best video in the world 🌎 + I love space!!!
The song is just oh my god...
The song made this video 99999% better :D
100000%:
*Am I a joke to you!?*
I´ve seen this video maybe 10 times and I´am still impressed. It could have been little slower but still..... just AMAZING!!!!! And Musk is a real god in these days (2018)!!!!!
It's cool how the Apollo splashdown was perfectly timed with the beat drop of the music.
