@@MotorbreathChannel sorry to be licky here, but yeah Stratovarius is super good, one of the greatest bands ever, however, its power metal, kind of differente genre per say, however, as as Yngwie goes, he is referring to the fact that Yngwie made more classical oriented passages, now even his sound has changed, but look at Katsu, is a mix of Yngwie, Joe stump , fast ergonomic picking style and real fast, and not the same arpeggios, well composed , Katsu is super well known in Japan likewise Yngwie in America, but bear in mind that Im not saying Yngwie has fallen, Katsu own his own style, nobody in the existing of the world, 2 players will play the same,
@@ayoluca1 Now I do feel the need to confess something truly horrific. I haven't ever heard Yngwie. Weird I know - especially since I love Stratovarius so much. But I kind of have this weird way of discovering new music for myself... Sometimes it's just random. I know I should check this thing everybody is talking about, but I end up getting familiar with something completely unrelated instead and then jump from there to something utterly obscure... And on top of that I have a pretty wide range of genres that I love - it is basically all the extreme and classic metal minus brutal death and grindcore and plus some punk stuff with even blues and electronic here and there. And most of the stuff that I listen to is borderline prog/avantgarde or post-metal/atmospheric sludge... So I'm really - really - not an expert in shred or neoclassical or power metal (even though I consider Timo Tolkki a pretty neoclassical shredder). Here, I can count on my fingers: I like Buckethead, Strat, Ark Storm and Vinnie Moore. That's basically it. And I'm just giving advice from that range as best as I can. But if you ask me for black metal or modern but oldstyle heavy, I'll probably be able to name you some interesting bands as well.
@@MotorbreathChannel Interesting, yeah man! not a big deal if you havent heard him haha, good thing is that Ark Storm and Stratovarious is way more tasteful to listen, XD and btw, super great thanks for sharing this video, I once or twice a month I put in high volume to keep listening this band XD
Yes, he really plays very good! I have seen Malmsteen live and he always is improvising his solos, some parts are not as the CD's but this guy Katsu Ohta is playing every fucking note exactly as the albums he really is on focus !!! A real virtuoso, this Band sounds as Trilogy's 1986 from Malmsteen, they can't reject are 100% influenced by Yngwie.. Also a good guitar player from Japan is Norifumi Shima, from Concerto Moon and Double Dealer ! Other virtuoso !
Dmitry 'Motorbreath' Vovnyah. Buckethead is two steps beyond what most guitarists would attempt to play. Imagination direct to the strings without any discernible effort. Alan Holdsworth is another player that was able to do that.
En mi opinion Malmsteen es un genio pero esta banda ArkStorm en conjunto es muy superior , es muy facil escuchar todo el disco y no aburrirte. Si algun dia vienen a mi pais Peru estare en primera fila
I love Yngwie but when he stopped writing these kind of songs in around 2000, these guys took over. Amazing. Then they got the mighty Mark Boals years later but the production wasn’t as great, nor most of the songs, IMHO
@@MotorbreathChannel love Stratovarius too, especially from 95-2004. But I just remember hearing Message in DNA for the first time a few years ago thinking it was such an obvious Malmsteen clone but I actually like it better than his recent stuff
@@bmcskim I haven't even heard Malmsteen's stuff to this day. But yes, Ark Storm are amazing. I think that "Voyage of the New Legend" is the song that I am constantly thinking of when I get reminded of this band. I really don't care if they are copying anybody as long as they are making great music.
Look what Yngwie started....Hell yea!
These guys play like the world was gonna end at any second.
Ark Storm、心の中にそっと入ってきます
vocal佐々井さん、最高の唯一vocalistだと思います
オルフェウス‥特に素敵な曲です

Ark Storm are pretty good, yes. But what about Stratovarius?
Es la posta chabon, aunque la voz mucho no me convence. Pero la rompen en metal neoclasico...

Lol anyone wonder how Ohta playing's so clean,he's truly virtuoso 🤘🏼
He's way better than Joe Stump, but less famous >:(
