Im an Aussie in China,, I don't know what a super is,, Happy days mate, I appreciate your vids!, my Blue Gouldians are just about to have 3 leave the nest, all thanks to you Sir!
I appreciate it. A super is an option on RUclips at the bottom of the video clip. When you click it then it will allow you to make a donation to the channel with a comment. Then that comment is highlighted throughout the video. Love hearing your success. Great work!
Gouldians are readily available here, but we don't have any at the moment... once the big aviary is finished we will purchase some more... thank you for information you share, and cheers for sharing...
Thanks again for this information , Chris. Very useful, this year my gouldians had also starting problems, especially in the breeding cages. In my aviary they did a lot better. The babies seem to grow bigger and moult faster. Enjoying your videos, greetings from the Netherlands 👍
Great video with extremely helpful information. Could you make a video discussing light sensitivity because for me that's always been a big problem with keeping Gouldian s
Good information, always enjoy your videos. I’d be interested in some of your gouldians. I’m in the process of starting a new flock and. Wanting a few different bloodlines.
Thanks for the video on Gouldians. In your opinion, would it be better to have them in a mixed Avery with other finches or keep 4 or 5 pairs on their own? Also I'm planning on making a large bird room in my garage. Your shed is it insulated, or can I get by with just a heat source in the winter months. Also what temperature do you keep your shed in the winter. Thanks.
Great comment! My shed is insulated which helped keep the temps more stable inside. I do also heat it during the winter with a thermostat. I do breed during the winter so i keep it a little warmer than usual. My temp is set to kick on if temps fall below 75 degrees. For the gouldians I have had more success with emending in individual pairs but I am trying the colony setting for the first time this year so we’ll see how well I do.
I have a small aviary that I would like to house 2 pair of gouldians. 4 birds total. If one is not interested in having them breed, do I not put nests? Will they get aggressive if I don’t breed?
If you don’t want to breed them I would Suggest getting all the same gender. If you have pairs when it comes to breeding time they will want to breed and may build their own nest if not given the option. Gouldians will establish a pecking order and will have a dominant pair but they generally live cohesively together.
