Wow. Never saw a Musashi vs. Kojiro ending like that. There's no way Kojiro would have gotten up from that bonk on the head. I like the version played by Toshiro Mifune the most. I remember about a year long running Musashi series shown on tv in the 1970s that was excellent and explained Musashi's strategy of making sure the oar he used was two inches longer than Kojiro's sword. I'd buy that series on dvd in a second if I could find it.
there are different descriptions of what happen. Since they were too far, wittness differ from one and other. However everybody say Kojiro was stuck in the head yes.
@@EdwinHendraKusuma the one Toshiro Mifune did was a trilogy but in the 1970's there was a Musashi series of around 50 one hour episodes on PBS. I was a kid back then but with the series lasting around 50 episodes, it allowed a lot more detail about his daily life and the strategies he used to defeat the many different opponents he faced. It was frustrating because at the end of many episodes he was just about to face an opponent but you then had to wait a whole week for the next episode to see them battle.
Watanabe Ken was an amazing Sasaki Kojirou. You must not watch many Japanese historical dramas. They take liberties, it's not 100% true to history. Much like Yoshikawa's Eiji novel which everyone in the western world assumes is true to fact. Honestly, not much was known about Sasaki Kojirou. There are tons of theories that suggest he was an older man, as well as how the duel went. Some people even suggest he wasn't real at all since there's little on record about him.
Please, are you Japanese? Can I ask you something about the dialogue here? Why did his own men killed Sasaki and what did they say? I understood, or I think Kojiro did not want Musashi to come to any harm, even if he won, but it seems those people with him wanted to kill Musashi as well as they killed for some reason Sasaki. But why? what was the conversation about? Can you help me out here? I do not speak Japanese but I want to know. Thank you.
According to another series based on this same novel there was a conspiracy to kill whoever won the duel and claim that both died in a mutual killing to show how futile the way of the warrior was. That is also why it was a private duel on a secluded island, so only the nobility in on the plot would be witnesses. Kojiro had found out about the conspiracy before the duel and informed Musashi as well, and that is why he ran off the way he did after the duel.
A very different version from other films. Without understanding the Japanese dialog, it seemed like a dishonorable finish. Why was he finished off that way? And the beginning was very different. The scabbard or Saya wasn't cast off into the sand. The short sword or tanto was given away. The argument before the fight was different and important. Seemed like Musashi was very sorry or angry. There's so much more to this version. I'd like to understand what happened.
He thought the gunmans hidden somewhere away is a dirty move which was “planned” to ambush Musashi by doz dirty bald guys und insisted to finish everything by himself und he wanted them to return the Wakizashi to someone who he had respected in the past dat gave him the wakizasi if something happens to him ...murdered at last tho...yet another noble swords man consumed by disgusting political tricks
