Well, the teachings around the whole body of Christ and many available materials portray the picture that John was sent to declare JESUS CHRIST (prepare His coming, baptism, preaching his Kingdom, etc, as is is written of him and as he did). When he left that to begin to become a marriage counselor, they say, meant to deviated from his calling. Thus his consequent dead as killed by Herod and co. Again, recalled he was offended when he was arrested and put in prison. He sent his disciples to go and ask Christ, "are You the One or should we expect another", in hope that Christ should have taken over the phisycal kingdom from the Scribes and Pharisees, and delivery him John from prison (Matthew 11:1-15, Luke 7:18-30). Those're the contexts with which he is viewed to have veered off his ministry. Nevertheless, it doesn't mean God disapproved of John nor does it means he didn't make Heaven, but that we should be more watchful to avoid the errors and pitfalls of our predecessors in the faith. That is why Paul tA said that "these things were written for our learning". God still has the final say as to whether his veering off, as said, even applied or not. Hope it helps! He sent his disciples to go and ask Christ, "are You the One or should we expect another", in hope that Christ should have taken over the phisycal kingdom from the Scribes and Pharisees, and delivery him John from prison (Matthew 11:1-15, Luke 7:18-30).
Those're the contexts with which he is viewed to have veered off his ministry. Nevertheless, it doesn't mean God disapproved of John nor does it means he didn't make Heaven, but that we should be more watchful to avoid the errors and pitfalls of our predecessors in the faith. That is why Paul tA said that "these things were written for our learning". God still has the final say as to whether his veering off, as said, even applied or not.
