Thank you so much! A very structured video and I am looking forward to more of these!! Looking at the shadow on the background, would you consider adding a 4th light aimed onto the background?
You're most welcome. I actually liked the shadow which created something more interesting than a plain uniform seamless but if you wanted to eliminate it then you could certainly add a fourth soft light source.
Michael, I wanna give you one advice about lightning setups. I don’t know, maybe you heard already about it, but I will repeat. Do you know about Set A Light V2.5? I did my course about lightning setups there,so, maybe it will help you too). You are awesome
This would probably require planning ahead with a willing participant. I don't have specifics around what this session was if it was regular paid work, but I can't imagine they would oblige to a demo/teaching session whilst still paying a regular rate.
No disrespect intended. I am not even gonna watch this. I can not believe the degree we have gone to to create a plastic, nonhuman appearance. I have had to back way off. Most of my clients don't want to look like that and some are even offended when I present them with something that sand-blasted. Just saying. Please, please, continue....
Michael's work is nothing similar to " Plastic" skin retouch. I understand what you are saying and I am also not a fan of "plastic look". However the technique he is using on his works doesn't smudge the skin texture at all. ( as you can see on his works) It still depends on what kind of image you are looking for of course, but for this particular beauty shot, I believe that Michael is completely on the spot and managed to nail the image to how it is supposed to be. Don't get me wrong, I know where you are coming from since nowadays there are so many false " beauty " skin retouch tutorial on RUclips. But in my opinion Michael's channel is one of the few great channels that provides serious tutorials from real professional perspective.
I really like this tutorial series Michael. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us!
Happy to hear you enjoy it, thank you!

Thank you for these videos. You're a genius. I love your work.
Thank you for this nice resourceful video. I have only one question: is the main light/flash bare? No modifiers?
Not entirely bare. It’s got a small open reflector on it.
Thank you so much for sharing :)
really helpful again Michael, thanks
Thanks for watching, cheers

Excellent!
The best! Thanks!
Why don't you vlog in the studio at the time of the photoshoot. That will help a lot to understand the positioning of the light setup!
it's a ton more work
If I have time in the future I will, but I usually don't - plus in this case I can't go back in time :)

Great video... I would like to see the shot with @tilliemedland, which you posted on Feb 2, 2016 and @kennidyhunter on Nov 10, 2016.
Thanks Bernie, you're talking about FB or Insta? Cheers

Plastic? Right, look at the retouch, nothing plastic about it.
