Had a crazy moment last week - was having a beer with a neighbour who in passing told me he has a 303 on a shelf he never uses. He’s lost the power supply but am going to buy him one to try some of that buttery compression on my mixes. Stoked!
The equivalent to 303's vinyl compressor on 404sx is the Radio (mfx17). Set knob 1 and 2 to zero and knob 3 to around 45% and enjoy a nice, beefy, glue comp style effect
Sounds so good. I've owned so many samplers and devices in my time, and when I go through my back catalog of music I've made, the stuff I made on my 303 is always my favorite. It's just the best music I've made and it sounds the best, I can't explain it. It's such a simple little sampler, but it's magic.
it just sounds so good on everything. i'm trying out vulf compressor and it's really awesome. the wow/flutter is actually one of my favorite parts of this effect!
“A little sidechain on ableton” 😂 call that subtle.. vinyl comp-by now this has become a staple effect in hip hop. Love it. I’m just scared it could grow tiring
This vid is exactly what I needed. Thank you dude. I made a video trying to get the get the Zoom Sampletrak ST-224 to replicate the SP 303 vinyl sim and needed an good example to link anyone curious. So you’re mentioned in the video haha cheers✌️
I don't get any sound when its at zero. are you clipping? Is the red LED flashing a lot when your sounds are playing? if so you are most likely clipping and therefore getting those crackles and pops
that sounds quite cheap, I think the 303 will definitely hold its value as long as you look after it. It was used by some great beat makers in the past

Thats dope!
I have one and haven't used it in 10 years, definitely gonna revisit this now.

I need to try that ! Thanks
Interesting man, thanks for that knowledge! I'll definitely try it out
Nigga you a blessing
@@cararara6915 just tried this out (used it for my latest vid) and it does sound sick! thanks again for the tip!
Tried this yesterday and it sounds amazing, thank you so much for sharing with us

Nice man yeah, the effects have something about them definitely! Thanks for watching
There is something magic about the sp303. I make stuff using other gear all the time but the sound of the sp303 can't be beat.
The difference is incredible... I didn't expect that much of a difference when bypassed...
it just sounds so good on everything. i'm trying out vulf compressor and it's really awesome. the wow/flutter is actually one of my favorite parts of this effect!
Nice one man! I've heard from other sources that vulf compares well to the 303!
🤫 😂 jk GoodHertz is amazing

Bro, our boy has a ben 10 alien on his desk! I dig it!👌🏽👌🏽
haha nice one man, thanks for watching!
Happy to see you got your 303, nice flip btw👊✌️
Thanks bro, yeah was nice to do some content around it. Doesn't get enough attention!
This is crazy. I just got a 303 and was looking for some tutorials haha
Nice man, hope it was useful. I will be doing some more in the near future! :)
Man after watching one of your last vids with the 303, been scoping out the used market for one and the prices are mad haha.
I had a look recently and yeah they have rocketed! Think they are nearly double what I paid for mine now
@@spvidz Was looking on kijiji (online classified in Canada) and the only one close to me wants $850CAN which more than a brand new 404 haha.
I got one on facebook marketplace for 400. You should check locally man you'd be surprised what u can find
@@deafbyhiphop Now that's getting to a better price, I usually check couple times a week on the market. Will have to start looking at Facebook too
Beat sounds nice
Finally found one for cheap and fully mint.
Nice 🔥🔥🔥
You’ve finally seen the light 😂
Took a while 😝
Bro i swear you can be an ASMR channel, like an sp404 asmr, just tapping and scratching. 😂
haha I actually thought about doing an ASMR video once but don't think it would get the appreciation it deserves 😆
@@spvidz oh boy, it will definitely attract attention😂
How would compare the vinyl comp on 303 to the Lofi comp on 555?
I don't have the 555 any more sadly, so I can't really remember
I FUCKING LOVE THE VINYL SIM
It’s straight up butter! Thanks for watching
Nice! Just downloaded vol 3, worth it just for the Rikky sample. My name's Ricki 😂👌
Much appreciated man! I love that little clip too 🤣
I need to hook up my sp404 with my 707 powerhouse! Have a look at my last couple of videos on yt see what you think.
Thanks for the tutorial
Cheers for watching again man!
How do you hook up the Sample to the mixer?
I get a lot of popping noises when I use vinyl sim, even when the noise knob is all the way down, is that normal?
I don't get any sound when its at zero. are you clipping? Is the red LED flashing a lot when your sounds are playing? if so you are most likely clipping and therefore getting those crackles and pops
How do you become a member?
Hey man there should be a link in the description, or if you are on desktop there is a 'join' button available. Thanks for the interest!
need that
Should I get a 303 for $330usd
Only defect is that the number 6 pad light is not working (changing the led fixes it)
that sounds quite cheap, I think the 303 will definitely hold its value as long as you look after it. It was used by some great beat makers in the past
@@spvidz I'm about to get it, Im just unsure because it'll be my first sp unit
What's the sample?
Literally a cheat code.
The 303 compressor is the best in the range imo! love the sound of it
