See the snipers in the big recon squads are deliberately trained to only aim for the foot, because something something "you need two guys to carry a wounded guy but none for a corpse" and because of their worse stealth don't get any bonus damage. Snipers in sniper squads are mlg tactical gamers who are trained to score exclusively headshots on anything they target, and because of their superior stealth get a sneak attack critical bonus. Also no heli armor does literally nothing now. At least against missiles. Dunno about small arms/cannons. This has been tested and observed thoroughly. The almighty skyscräper sees all. Even the most devout of air traffic controllers is hardly a match for the common condominium dweller. Edit: Stingers had a hit rate as high as 80% against the Soviets in Afghanistan. Additionally, they've been absolutely doming Russian helicopters in Ukraine. I think they even shot down a cruise missile with one.

And yeah skyscraper squatters are truly powerful In the current conflict I've not heard too much about stingers since the first months. I saw a testimony saying the newest Russian helicopters have some sort of deflection mechanism, requiring soldiers to fire multiple MANPADs at once to have a realistic chance of bringing the helicopter down. I believe the Russians also fly with about 16 banks of flares now and shoot them constantly while moving around lol But yeah in 1989 they were very good against helicopters but in Warno we've got this weird thing where they're good against high altitude planes too :I

They were pretty good against planes in 1989 too. Soviet doctrine in the second half of Afghanistan stated that all CAS planes should fly at an altitude of around 3000 meters to avoid being hit by stingers. This absolutely murdered the accuracy of their unguided weapons and I'm pretty sure is why VDV doesn't get dive bombers.

Airborne had m60s pre-m240b, not m249, and the m240 has the stats that the m60 used to have so they are statistically the same as the were
