Devon hasn’t really had long stretches as the dominant world no1, granted things are different now As you noted, John arrived first, and kind of developed with the sport over the decades and just always represented with respect, sportsmanship, humility, and excellence. He is revered among pullers and fans alike. I think there’s just certain intangibles that make John the GOAT no matter what else happens

I don't really think John was motivated to pull Dennis and it showed in the lead-up but this one was a lost that John knew he had a chance to redeem himself so he put in a massive amount of work for this I think this John would probably handle Dennis a little bit better just a thought
i mean, this doesn't prove anything for Denis, John is not elite anymore, everyone knows where John's level is cause he competed a lot in the last couple of years, the unknown factor here was Alexey cause when someone had 1 supermatch in 15 years there's nothing reliable to go on. If anything Denis inability to win effortlessly against John is not a good sign for him, he needs to improve from that match to hope to be in the same playground as Devon.

Taking John was hard coz when you are out of the game for so long it's not easy to get your brain to adapt to in match situations. I first watched the Pulling John documentary back in 2012, but didn't get into arm wrestling until 2018. I'm happy for John that he finally got his rematch after all these years.
Alexys bicep was there but not his forearm or brachialis to lock his arm John just got through it to quickly for him to do anything to bad Alexey couldn’t perform as well as he did before against John but we are all happy to see alexey pull even if it’s the last time.
The crazy part isnt that john did as well as he did, its that if he really wanted he could have won 6-0, and he only lost 2 rounds because he was testing himself.
I didn't follow the build up, but I am surprised people picked Vovoeda. Time off will greatly hinder you . Even John needed some warm ups when he came back this last run.
Looks like john is finally feeling that heavy linear holding feeling when he applies sidepressure, that shoulder healing is finally working, and his elbow seems to be relatively fine too
A very decorated bobsleigher, politican and a successful amrwrestler. Coming back after years of being inactive in this sport he gave such a great match. Voevoda will always be one of my favourites 💪💪💪
