- "There is just nothing else quite like Utah and this 871-mile route will take riders to some unforgettable places. Beginning in Mexican Hat, UT and ending in Garden City, UT the route includes iconic places including Valley of the Gods, Moab, the Abajo and La Sal mountains, Onion Creek, 9 Mile Canyon and the Wasatch Mountains. Utah is unpredictable with mud that is impassable when wet and storms that can wash out roads at anytime. Deep sand challenges riders in places, and a few expert-only options provide excitement for those that seek adrenaline."
Hello!
I'm Brady, AKA Mountainman, I've been a soldier, ski bum, police officer, government worker, photographer, and all around nomad. Now I travel on my motorcycle, make videos, and share them with the world. Along the way I do dumb stuff off road, camp, fly drones, take pictures, learn about culture and history and do my best to take you with me.
In early 2022 I set off on my motorcycle Yennefer (2021 Tenere 700) for an adventure with no set destination or timeline. Come along with me and let’s see what will happen as I try to ride until I can't.
Bike: Yamaha Tenere 700
Luggage: Mosko Moto Scout Panniers, Backcountry Duffle, and Hood tankbag
Navigation: Carpe Iter Tablet and Drive Mode Dashboard 2
Cameras: GoPro Hero 11, Hero 9, GoPro Max, GoPro Hero 8, Skydio 2, DJI Mavic Air 2

Thank you for sharing this video. This was the last BDR my father and I were able to do together before he passed away. Fond memories.
may he rest in peace
That's a hell of a good memory
What a neat road. Another for the bucket list.thank you.
Camel ADV and Radek Burkat have taken Adventure Bikes on five miles of hell. There’s a couple videos documenting it on CamelADV’s channel. Pretty impressive.
That is what adv bikes are made for, great video!
I've been watching all your videos - and your reaction when you eat shit is EXACTLY how I react! "eeehhgroannn.. dammit" you remind me so much of me it's hilarious! You're the bomb bro would love to ride with you someday.
Those long flat areas would drive me nuts. My bike would be saying BRAAAP in those parts of the BDR
Thank you for this! Me and a buddy are headed out there from Dallas, TX on June 6th for an adventure ride. Great video and commentary.
Awesome video, Being a adv guy Utah is my favorite place to explore, watching the footage was making me clinch my hands when You were hitting the deep sand sections, i hate those! Got my butt kicked few times camping in sand storms there, best thing I did was purchasing a 3 season tent where i can zip up all the mesh panels in the tent, last time i woke up with sand in my mouth, eyes and nose, that sucked, can’t wait for spring to get out there, stay safe , have fun!
I like seeing your videos during the winter. I can see where you've been an I can plan my adventures. Cause being a rider my self an other things to do. I'd be missing them. So BDR movies 1-2 hr episodes are great. Thanks for sharing. I'll be joining soon.😊😃🙃
Love the rides, hard to do in Hawaii!!! Can't wait till you hit 500,000 subs, and you will...live Aloha
aventura top meu amigo,tmj
As usual, Great quality (resolutions) in your videos. Always nice to watch your adventures.
Thanks - another great video; always entertaining and informative👍
awesome Vid, its going to take me 3 days to finish it. but im excited every time I get :20 free mins to watch some!! cant wait for your Nevada and Idaho vids!!!
2:15:51 yep. I dropped my 1250 GS right at the end about 3 feet away from the dry dirt. Hit a hole and didn’t know my traction control was on, cut my engine enough to load the front and down we went. But there was quarter mile or so of soupy muddy deeeep ruts just after that so good choice, my friend. Had to stop twice and dig the mud out of the fender so my front tire would turn. Still such a great experience tho 🤩
Went through there about June 20 ish so probably lower water level than you had
Yep I was there on the 6th. It was at least knee deep in the middle.
@@MeerkatADV I just checked my photos. It was June 19. I was up over the knee at the far end where I picked my bike up. I am willing to bet that you would’ve had to go back through it again though because of what we found when we were there on top. Was probably snow when you were there given that you found Snow 100 yards off the road on the other side. Good video man.
good vids
Rocky Mountain took TW200's on the 5 miles of Hell! LOL
Yeah, not the brightest idea. Camel ADV took ADV bikes. It was a mess.
New Subscriber, love the video, Also a T7 owner & adventure rider, where are you based out of ? if ever in your area be cool to meet up and ride. I did 30k miles last year. from Texas to Nicaragua then up to Newfoundland and back to Mexico. Supposedly they are gonna make a BDR in my backyard in TERLINGUA TX AKA Big Bend National Park area.
Yeah Big Bend BDR-X should be out in the next year or two. My family is in Colorado, I've been wintering here. The overall goal would be to go full time on the road but have to figure out the finances first.
21:20 memorial day seems a lot better than late June when we did it. Most of the stuff you’ve riden through was deep talcum powder for us.
June/July isn't a great time to be in Southern Utah. Too damn hot.
@@MeerkatADV haha especially for a couple of Alaska boys! But vacation time comes when vacation time comes
Oh man you were so close to the top when you hit the snow!! I ride that area all the time.. I love riding the slope stone pass area!! And that water crossing is always deep...they need a bridge there.. Im excited to see the northern NV area, I have been wanting to ride to jarbridge..
Oh I know, I was at the top. With a little help I would have made it. I was about a week too early.
@@MeerkatADV You should have called I live 15 mins from the top 🙂 ha
Curious why you haven't upgraded your fuel tank size?Thx for the videos, they are great to get an idea of the character of each BDR. Cheers,ed
I have a cameltank.
Love these videos! Live in NC, nothing exciting as far as BDR. Where do you find/download your tacks for navigation?
Ridebdr.com
Can you please tell me if the puig clip on windshield deflector you have is size medium and if so is it on the stock Yamaha t7 windshield? I ordered the medium but it appears too big for my stock windshield
Thanks!!
That is the stock windshield. I have no idea what size the puig windscreen is, I've had it for over 2 years. I feel like they recommend the small but honestly no clue.
What is your microphone set up?
Rode lav mic and gopro media mod.
29:26 what tires are you running??!!
Motoz, dual venture front/adventure rear
Which riding gear are you wearing?
Adventure spec.
@@MeerkatADV I guess that would make sense 😂🤦♂️ thank you
I'm sure this was a fun and interesting video to watch but since the dash mounted action camera blocked the view, I had to bail on this one.
Lol, the rear cam blocks nothing. There's a windscreen there which you also can't see through.
@@MeerkatADV Did it ever occur to you to place the camera where it could film the road? Also we could see through a clean windscreen without a sticker on it. Your call though. It just seems like such a waste to go through all this only to post an unwatchable video. I would never post something like this. On the other hand, the dash cam did get a LOT of video of just you so there's that. I apologize for coming across like a troll. It was meant to be constructive criticism but I guess that was a major fail too.
I have a helmet camera for that. The bike mounted camera is to provide a different view than my helmet cam. I've had a 360 camera up there and damaged it twice, so now I just use it for rear facing and protect it with the windscreen.
@@MeerkatADV The only other option I can think of would be a mount on top of your helmet or an Action Selfie Stick extension but I don't know how these would be at higher speeds. The Insta360 Action selfie stick is much more robust than the standard hand-held type.
Yeah, I use the 360 sticks when I'm on pavement, but any kind of dirt and the vibration will just rattle them to pieces.
You smelled natural gas?
They drill around there.
