I've never seen these type of buses before I do like the sound of their engines though

It could be a d901's little sister from the way it looks and sounds.

I remember riding those in Victoria when they were brand new.

We had them in New Orleans back in 1990 same motor sound but the gears change a lot faster .

Although we bought some more between 1997& 2004 but the motors on them sound completely different

Interesting, the "Stop Request" lit-up sign is just behind the driver rather at center where all other Orion V does.
Also, since it's hard to tell, they seem to disable the 1st gear to prevent breakdown!

Some are still on the Island! #610 is in Campbell River and 600, 601 are still in Nanaimo. But remember, they weren't sold, they were transferred to other BC Transit Communities.

Pittsburgh got these in like... 1992. I Remember when they were brandy-new. lol. Now they got rid of all of them, I think. It's LF all the way these days. even the ones introduced back in 1998 are starting to disappear.

    Can a V or VR 730/731 3-speed (V-drive) transmission fit onto a Orion 5 to a 6v92TA or other engines, since it's a T-drive bus?

603 can be seen in the movie "Final Destination" she was redressed for use in that film. Was used in end sequence which was shot in Bastion Square in Victoria. That the last time I saw her.

Oh man. Dougalways hated theses buses cause there ain't no gms . I hated gms cause there loud and noisy a***s . This is why 600 , 601 and 602 were more safe on Friday nights. I alway hated when Scott Kupiack was a Dogwood holics .
