    Excellent job Bob, I plan on using this technique for future ballast loads in my LIRR hoppers. Look forward to part II!

      Thanks Tom!! Ive been doing them for awhile. You could use the same plan with ballast as well. I have some ballast loads, I switch them out every once in awhile.

      Thanks Eric, you can either overspray with whatever color you want or simply use like woodland scenic material. It works out really good.

    Thanks Bob for the "How To" coal Loads. Great job. I Have just one question though, what type of coal are you using and where do you get it in bulk if you can ? Thanks for your time and sharing.

      Hi Brian its called black beauty. Its used for sandblasting. you can find it at grainger and believe it or not amazon as well.

      Thanks Brandon, although you can use anything fairly scale. If you make alot woodland scenic gets expensive. This is "Black Beauty". Its primarily used for sand blasting material. 25 or 50 pound bags are cheap and you can make a mountain of coal or ballast loads.
