The most underrated thing about JHawk's vids is his narration. Almost all other comp content sounds like someone reading off a prompter or giving a valedictorian speech. JHawk just talks like he's right there in the same room with you. Really good.
My biggest critique of apex comp content was that the barrier to entry feels high cause they say a lot of stuff newcomers might not understand. I try my best to make it sound down to earth 🫡

It is something that is very hard to even notice because, ironically, fun is a fairly quiet guy. But he also never gets upset and is always being max silly....While melting and breaking angles better than anyone except maybe 10 other MNK players in the world. Which relates to another crucial thing for XSET: Nocturnal is probably the most underrated IGL/fragger in ALGS rn. He has been something like 10-25% better than Sweet in his calls and his mechanical performance for close to 6 months...Sweet is starting to make me nervous...Feels like Nate had 2x the passion and 5x the brain cells lately...
Honestly didn’t follow Xset at all before this video. Will definitely be following them from now on. Thanks for making this video. Had no idea how well structured this team is and love how their able to communicate effectively without emotions getting in the way. Fire video🔥

Finally, some XSET love. They have been so overlooked and underrated from the beginning of year 3, even back when they were Team Liquid, i see them and ive been watching them all throughout. Always consistent placing, barely any drama in that team. They dont make too much noise but teams should never count them out. One wrong play and you bet they’ll be there to make you regret. If any team deserves more praise, I definitely think it should be them. They were my 2nd pick for the split 1 playoffs, after of course TSM. I’ll be continuing to cheer for the both of them this upcoming split 2 playoffs 🤝🏽🤞🏽

I havent been paying attention much to them before I saw them winning the 2v3 on WE, the same example you showed here and I had a feeling it was going to be in this video, and you are right about this team. Favorite team by far this split, the playstyle and comms shows how much confidence and mutual respect they have.
Especially the Last fight you showed how amazing their individual talents are, Enemy going for the push after Nocturnal went for the flank being overly aggressive and his team being to slow to follow up, Sikezz reads the situation in a instance and pushes Enemy from a hard to defend angle for enemy, especially because Enemy just loaded all his ammo onto nocturnal and even at a position disadvantage they still bring hill to 50, a split second decision turning the fight into a 2v2, while Fun is simply holding his stand on the other side of the rock against now a 2v1 while Skiezz rotates to flank both of them, Hill and xenial still completly picked offguard from enemys push trying to find a kill on fun and hill knowing that enemy died there trying to figure out where skiezzz is. Skiezzz picks up the kill on hill and gets traded by xenial but fun still won the small skirmish between him and xenial and to finish it off right after xenial picked of skiezzz, trying to reload, fun is already there to win the match. It simply shows that in split second decision making, aim, and simply having a game plan they are way ahead of their competition, turning a positional disadvantage into a favourable fight in just 5 seconds. Amazing show of skill.
5:50 Round-based game players when the comms on a linear, constant action game are more visceral and louder (not actually louder tho, just more frequent) than what they expected/are used to: 😵😵😨😨 Fail/delay relaying/taking in information in Apex and you become an instant compromise, the weaker link in your team. The clip that follows is enough proof, every player is constantly saying something for minutes, and the amount of distance covered during their rotation calls for that high octane, "I talk first and you listen" kind of communication game. Stellar video.
Well to be the fair the take is that if a LAN happened right now they win it. But the next LAN is so far away for no reason so things could change if we see an update or something

Sikes was slept on. When I heard he was replacing gild i felt it was the best possible replacement. Found him when he was grinding top 3 pred with Hiswattson and Keon, always dreamed the 3 of them would team up before watto joined furia and Keon torrent at the time.

i think a small factor is also the inputs on xset vs tsm is also the inputs. xset has 2 m&k i think and tsm has 1. in terms of the characters that are more effective, m&k is more consistent on all characters while controller is better off using valk or horizon vs catalyst. in terms of igls, noct is highly underrated while also keeping vibes relaxed but this style only works with players that have a similar level of passion because if one slacks it drags them all down for possibly longer. hal has more of the kobe bryant or michael jordan style of leaderships where he will test his teammates to ensure they can keep up with him which leads to an overall high skilled team sweet has a team where he makes 90% of the calls which leads to high risk high reward play if he isn't on his game that day

So the Valk ult would’ve made everyone focus them and then they would have to challenge a team right off of it. Tbh they die in that game no matter what unless they manage to wipe that bottom side
All the people saying COD has clearer comms: have they ever watched a CDL HP or Control listen-in?? Those comms are cluttered the same as Apex, if not more because there's 4 people instead of 3. The only COD gamemode without cluttered comms is S&D
The 3 vs 2 is funny because he said they were nervous and you can tell peoples skill levels by how they take space. Aren’t all these people pros? It’s a 2 vs 3 😂 why would they push them like that? He runs up solo and gets clipped. Pros. Blows my mind. I know his team was pissed.
They are pros but the team they were playing just qualified for pro league this split compared to XSET who have some veterans. Plus still super early in the split so getting an end game like that is bound to make less experienced player nervous

Can someone help me understand the Cat/Bang picks? I thought normally teams choose Bang on SP and Cat on WE but XSET seems to do the opposite

All the people saying COD has clearer comms: have they ever watched a CDL HP or Control listen-in?? Those comms are cluttered the same as Apex, if not more because there's 4 people instead of 3. The only COD gamemode without cluttered comms is S&D

The 3 vs 2 is funny because he said they were nervous and you can tell peoples skill levels by how they take space. Aren’t all these people pros? It’s a 2 vs 3 😂 why would they push them like that? He runs up solo and gets clipped. Pros. Blows my mind. I know his team was pissed.
They are pros but not on the same level as the XSET players. XSET players are top tier
They are pros but the team they were playing just qualified for pro league this split compared to XSET who have some veterans. Plus still super early in the split so getting an end game like that is bound to make less experienced player nervous
