  • The building of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, where students protested in support of Palestine, was evacuated by the police.
The students, who started a protest in support of Palestine yesterday at the Faculty of Social Sciences located near Friedrichstrasse metro station in Mitte district, met with faculty members, including Humboldt University President Julia von Blumenthal, in the building today.
The students negotiated with the university administration to extend the deadline for the demonstration.
After the deadline for the protest expired, some students voluntarily came out in groups and were taken to a police checkpoint for identification. Many students continued to protest inside the building.
Later, the police announced that they had received instructions to start evacuating the faculty building. The police entered the building, removed the banners and took the students out one by one and detained them. Some students were also handcuffed.
