- Here is a rare track from the Cumular Limit album, You Stole My Love. I heard it was recorded in 1966 and it was produced by former Yardbird bass player Paul Samwell Smith. Only the backing track was recorded.
Line up:
Keith Relf- (No vocals on track)
Jimmy Page- Lead Guitar
Chris Dreja- Bass Guitar
Jim McCarty- Drums

Another Graham Gouldman composition that he originally recorded with The Mockingbirds. If you’d like to hear the best version of this song it’s by Mike Furber & The Bowery Boys from Sydney Australia recorded in 1966
I Love Yardbirds 🌷🏵️🌹🌺
Forever 😎 i Love 🌷🏵️🌺
“I was your lover
You were the sunshine
Along lonely streets
And haunted rhythms “
I think this song is the unspoken inspiration for Classical Gas. The Chords are undoubtedly the same and this one came out first. This goes to show how Graham Gouldman was a spectacular songwriter, gave everybody some of the best songs he ever wrote, but really kept the best for himself. No song out there short of a few Beatles songs and maybe Waterloo Sunset have as unique of an arrangement as "You Stole My Love". Pure genius! The high point of the British Invasion other than the Beatles hitting the shores of America!
Fantastic!!❤❤
Seems like Keith Relf did not show up for the session to sing. With the vocals this song could have been a hit for them.
Happy Birthday Jimmy Page! Can't wait to hear the 2015 music, which he has promised.
Great lyric
I love yardbirds with Jeff Beck
I agree!! Some of my favorite Yardbird songs are with his guitar playing.
This song was a hit in Australia for Mike Furber and The Bowery Boys-1966. They were from Brisbane but Mike was born in London.
Steven Wells . And is the best version of them all. Mike Furber & the whole production, nailed it!
Now you have to hear this one babydoll.........
You've got the Cumular Limit album!!!... FINALLY!!! ;-)
Just another "bomb" from the Yardbirds!!! Page times???
yeah
Good exemple of rave up...
This is what jimmy page started out as
I first heard this song on one of the outtakes from the first CD version of "Little Games". Even the rough outtake version was pretty cool, if too brief. Thanks for uploading. And, what is the story behind Cumular Limit? A-never-released album that somehow finally saw the light of day? LOL
Too bad that Beck didn't team up to play guitar with his childhood buddy Paige. Imagine the two of them on the song. WOW!
For a little while, the two guitarists were together in this band.
No one rock band (regardless of their name) can survive having two guitar prima donnas as it's members.

One must leave, the second must stay.
@@petrslivinski7481 A true statement.

Page was practicing his craft at a young age and only placed his guitar down to attend school and sleep. He was so dedicated and determined to be the very, very best and he succeeded at it. Cheers.
Didn't Mike Furber sang this song before they done it?
The songs on this cd I'll burn onto a blank cd and call it my own Little Games cd which it should've sounded like in 67.
Jeff Beck always found himself as the Best!!!! unable to play in a Band (in this Time)!
What is the Cumular Limit Album?I've got it on something called Little Games Sessions & More. Even has the old Great Shakes radio commercial.
luv this album!!! how many takes did they do, on this one cut, 2-3?
Didn't Mike Furber sang this song too?
Never heard this one. That has to be Pagey on guitar.

@bahreebah Yeah, this has a Graham Gouldman vibe to it.. Thanks for posting this.
i think he composed this tune and i think he recorded it as well.
He was with The Mockingbirds for his version. It's a terrific cut, making me wish that Keith had tackled the vocals on this version.
Mike Furber recordedit.
In the last photo shot, looks like JP is ripped on sum'pin. Maybe Jim McCarty too.
Tasty
I'd never even heard of this album. Was this made after or before "Little Games?" Was it a bootleg?
She's thinking about it
What year this tune come out? This was at the end of their time .
& me
This should've gone into the Little Games album, but never made it.
Jimmy Page's guitar is out of tune.
