We must never interpret material prosperity as a sign that God is pleased with actions that are out of harmony with His revealed will. That's similar to interpreting no problems as a sign that God is pleased with us. It just doesn't work that way. Our personal success, or any of our accomplishments, is never a way to measure God. We invite blessings when we live in God's will, as revealed in His Word, but there are many blessings even greater than material prosperity. There are those who identify themselves as Christians--some even fill pulpits--who are quite wealthy but, inside, there is little, if any, relationship with the Lord. It's sad, because a 'bigger barn' (see the parable of the rich fool in Luke 12:13-21) means nothing when eternity is next. Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.
