Is this real life? Lol I didnt even realise it said 4 in all the artist videos because I had so far put the possibility of one from mind. Looking forward to this reveal and great job by the team! Ive never played a nord but it craftsmanship, diverse sound detailing gives mad scientist meets creative and I have been sold since hiromi and then again a few years ago when I started to learn music again. God bless the great team behind these!
I really CAN'T BELIEVE the 4 audio outputs are still unbalanced!!! 😲 We've got still to use di-boxes for better audio mixing: my Behringer's Deepmind 12 comes with fully balanced outputs. No words, really no words. By an affecionate Nord Stage 3 user.
There are a few things that are so OBVIOUSLY bad designed it crazy. I own a 2 and a 3. And with every new model they change things that noone needs and things that were fine get overcomplicated.
Meanwhile my RD-2000 is less than half the price and comes with balanced XLR outs as well as an onboard audio interface that lets me seamlessly mix MainStage audio with onboard sounds and send them all out through the same outputs...
It says a lot that consumer flash memory (as in the form of nvme drives) are more than thrice as fast (both access times and read speeds) and literally 1000 times the amount of available memory than what Nord offers. And that only for 100 euros. You can't convince me otherwise that Nord is playing dumb here, especially for selling this junk for an extra 1000 euros compared to the stage 3.
@DeltaRazero I love that! This must be the geekiest roast I have ever read! I hope you dropped your phone & walked away after typing! I love Nord, but I'm compelled to agree. But, I'm sure you probably won't see my reply until tomorrow when your phone cools, though. Lol.
It's a fine upgrade but the lack of an update to the old C2D organ engine is extremely disappointing: Nord, are you aware Crumar and Viscount's emulations have gotten much, much better than your own's in the last decade?
Curious, the only ones who use Nord are those who are sponsored by Nord, those who have the possibility to buy it, obviously they go for other brands, which offer much better technology, response and capacity, even other types of generation of real analog synthesis
What you wrote is quite interesting and surprising for me, because where I live the situation is exactly the opposite. Almost every serious pro keyboardist (mostly session players, who works for pop-artist or playing in indi-bands or jazz/fusion) has a Nord Stage 3 or 2, or at least Electro, and every young-wannabe-pro musician dreams of having one. I think, mostly because is quite lightweighted and portable (if we talk about compact modification) comparing to workstations of other manufacturers of the same price (like Kronos or Montage or Phantom). Not to mention about all the well-known good sides of the NOrd like easy to edit on the fly etc. And i'm pretty sure, that the situation is pretty the same in Europe and in US.
Please add XLR outs, motorised faders knobs and drawbars that come to original position with presets otherwise atleast change the knobs to infinite with light indicator instead. Also, the audio and midi functionality is something even the cheap keyboards provide now. Recording the internal sounds would be so much easier with that. This keyboard is so close to perfect, hopefully you'll add these features in the Nord Stage 5.
Meh, still no balanced outputs, no MIDI 2.0. Only real improvement for my use case: Double sample synth memory and hybrid drawbars. Can the pitch stick's range at least be customized now? I guess I'll look for a used Stage 3 compact. Thank you for facilitating my decision and going easy on my wallet.
@@beintelegant not sure if worth though, the specs are not as overwhelming as initially thought. The aftermarket for Stage 3 might get interesting though.
Would be a really nice keyboard if they had upgraded the organ section engine. Also, a more flexible eq section would be great. I get all the hands on control thing, but having a parametric eq as an option would be really really handy.
I'm waiting for an Electro 7D with mod wheel and pitch stick. Basics comes from the Electro 6D, New LED&physical drawbar from Stage4 and it's done. The Stage series is too expensive for me.
Can you guys please fix the fact that the stage 4 does not have the horn/rotor balance setting?. This is really the only thing that would stop me from buying the stage 4
so a triple sensor keybed and a few new effects? still the same useless pipe 1 and 2 from the electro 6? no new pipe organ samples? they could have included the samples from the C2, and a second set with more modern, romantic pipe samples. no 145 Leslie effect from the C2D? the synth is based on the wave 2? so it doesn't have the vocal formants nor amplitude modulation from the A1? are the samples from the new 4.0 library at least?
Never thought I would say this about a Nord Stage, but it seems that the new features and the compromises and what they have removed, it's not for me. I will stick to my Stage 3 and Kronos 2. Thanks for trying.
A no-brainer if you are a billionaire. I like the new synth modifications, which really distinguishes the Stage from the Electro. It's about as deep as you can reasonably go when it comes to live editing. The small increments in memory are really meh, but others have mentioned this before. I believe the real thing could be new samples that use all the features. Nice job on polishing the Stage 3, but it's no blockbuster release IMHO. I will continue to monitor the price development. It's a dense market, so there won't be much movement. Probably not in the next five years, and maybe not in my lifetime. Anyone wants to gift me a stage 4? My church desperately needs a good new stage piano.
The cut off knob alone makes it a deal breaker for live. If you like having blasting loud value jumps its fine though. I dont get it. the 2 and the 2ex were the best models.
@@tokiboi6777 well, the value jumps are a problem in certain live settings where you intentionally modify the sound during a performance. However, in most of these cases, you would have to rehearse this process several times, so you can avoid surprises.
@@pastorfox unacceptable. imagine using synth/piano presets in every song or improvisation. This is called nord STAGE. It was meant for professional live musicians. the endless cut off knob was the way to do it. WHY was it changed? You open an preset and you see where its at. @@tokiboi6777 I only carry the Electro 6 in it's original bag, which is handleable. And compared to the Kronos, the Stage is featherweight. And as for professional musicians: To be a pro means to be a pro at my own instrument, wether it has a hyperspace drive or a rubberband motor.
@@pastorfox thats a boomer approach, but I see what you mean. only because there are heavier things out there makes the nord okay? makes no sense. And your last point is also strange. First of all its about being a pro at music. And Nord aimed to make playing LIVE as convenient as possible, having as many controls as a physical button. But like Apple they are loosing it.
One of the biggest mistakes was to change the CUT OFF from an endless decoder to a normal one. WHY did you not see how important it is to not have these value jumps live on stage? There are so many other flaws that really raises the question if you designers ever perform with it at all.
Already got one, pretty nice, but kind of the same as the previous version (you know, keys, colors, sounds, but looks cool with the number 4 on the back)
What a huge disappointment! 120 polyphony and 2GB of memory when all of the competition is at 256 and 320 polyphony. I was ready to pay big money for this and unless it has at least 512 polyphony, 30 second samples per key, and 1TB of storage, I don’t want it.
Looks like they cut off what was left of the external section. This would make it a no buy for me.. my whole setup is build around the external section
Let me start by saying that I absolutely adore the Nord Sound. Having said that I honestly hope that no one will buy these products as long as Nord continues to think we're utter fools. This product has little to no improvements that would justify such a price. It's just not worth it and as much as I want to like Nord I hope that they fail in the worst possible ways to make them reconsider how they treat their consumers.
Still no USB Audio and no mention of improvements on the faulty keybeds. I want to like Nords, because I love the sound, but it's ridiculous to ask for so much money while doing the least possible to improve the products. Nord is honestly worse than Apple.
Same here. Waiting to hear confirmation on the prices. I'm happy with the Stage 3, just frustrating to think it could drop €500 or something next week and I'll feel like a sucker, so might still return it
Better call Molina, so he can show us how he plays 2566433 notes in 4 seconds with the same old crap but version 4.😂 Oh, by the way, Nord blows. They are after big money now. No nord modular, no nord desktop synth. Cash hungry swedes. Montage is far superior to any nord available.
Does this mean I can finally afford the nord stage 2?
😂😂i hope we can afford it now.

Wait a little bit longer. Here in germany you can buy the nord c1 sometimes for 500 €. The stage 2 will follow one day 🤣🤣
Physical and digital drawbar blend! Perfection.
Now with 2mb more ram.
The price will be more amazing!

5 years later and there has been no significant change. This is wonderful. (contains irony)
Now with improved 64k memory!
Are you trying to insult the legend of Commodore 64? Don't do that. I love that computer! 🙂
I just want to know when the seventh generation of electro will be updated
Nord really needs to make the Nord C3 or C3d since they’ve been away from the duel organ world for way to long. 😢
a C3 with a new set of romantic pipes, sample section and possibly a basic synth would be drool worthy
