Awesome video Marv. As a 14 year automotive technician cannot stress to people enough how far your basic maintenance will go in the reliability of what you are driving from cars to big rigs and anything in between. Thank you as always for the sneak peek sir. God bless

The reality is that not everyone is cut out for this lifestyle, Brandon. It's never-ending work. We had a great Christmas. I hope you did also. Happy New Year to you when it comes. Much luv brother. 🫡
Bossman, keep up the good work. I'm just starting as an owner operator and have a Cat C7 in my Freightliner M2 and there's a Cat mechanic on RUclips called Adept Ape. I've been watching a lot of his how to services videos. The middle hole for the oil filter is where filtered oil comes from, you ideally want to fill your outer small holes with fresh oil when your priming the oil filter with fresh oil, not the inner big whole because you always want filtered oil to be fed to the engine and lessen the risk of contaminated oil. I believe that most if not all oil filters use this same principle. Big up yuhself boss!
Appreciate it, bro. Just a quick heads up on the C7. It's probably the most problematic engine ever made by CAT. prior to owning big rigs, I had two M2 106 freightliners as well. Both had CAT C7 engines. Most of the problems with that engine begins with the Heui pump. Both engines had the same issues. Just stay on top of your maintenance.
@presy_jay Thanks for the heads up. Been doing some research on the engine, didn't really know anything about the Heui pump until aftern I bought the truck, I thought that all CATs were bulletproof engines. I just changed my oil and from what I've gathered, that's vital with the heui system

Salute and Respect ALWAYS FAM My Brother and My Guy Marv with DEFINITELY another great explosive episode of content and video in the grind game of trucking industry as a O/O. A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to Marv and Family, to the Brother Moderators of the Family and to all the SUBSCRIBERS. You DEFINITELY have to put in work on your equipment and check things over all of the time. This is a tutorial lesson of learning, listening and learning of experience and skills with knowledge and wisdom. These are just some of the basic things that you do as a O/O, which save you money and the job is done correct and right. Marv you're correct about buying the bulk oil in the box bag is cheaper and easier to use and disposal is simple. That's how and what you do doing a oil change. Yes Sir if the steer tires are good keep them for a spare and then same for the drives as well. Everything looking and sounding good KING and this was a Excellent and Great video of content. Was and O/O 2018-2022, brand new Volvo 760. Even with a new truck, I was working on it/servicing things every home time or reset. Guys think new trucks and warranty, means its hands off. Lots of guys went under, by letting the dealer "handle" stuff while the truck was in for warranty. If you write the draler a blank check for service, they will use it lol. Great work Marv, I personally dont miss it, driving dump trucks locally now.
Being an owner operator is rough enough. Add a new truck to the mix, and you've got more problems on your hand. A pre-emission truck is the way to go. I'm happy you were able to find something else. Drive safe.
Good video showing the background of a Owner Operator. But be careful driver when putting air in these tires when they are flat. they can explose. ive seen that happen on a brand new tires, and its no joke.
Thanks for the heads up. But a tire will only explode if it's over inflated. My truck doesn't have enough air pressure to cause an explosion. An air compressor will, though.
Hi Marv👋 Appreciate you giving us the maintenance POV. This is very important when considering getting into ownership 👍 and that goes for anything honestly. Thanks very much for showing how the Owner Operator stuff works, atleast you have real truck that you can work on. Being a owner operator is definitely a lot more work than just hoping in the truck and go. My uncle used to go over his truck from front to back every month. As he said its a pride thing but also his lively hood for his family. He kept 2 trucks to swap between when one was down being worked on. i remember being the tool runner as a kid and holding the light for him. Sadly he passed away when a log fell off his trailer and killed him instantly. Safe travels.

@@jayauto6184 thank you!!! Right now I’m on track to start with a local company when I’m 19 or 20 then we’ll see how it goes from there to being an owner operator.
