I'd,ve called it pomposidonian BS... These upper class twits are behind the world we now inhabit... It's all been part of a self righteous dream... And guess what??? It's your turn to bat !!!
For Australia Benaud had just retired and Davidson McKay and Harvey (the last invincible) the year before. And Redpath must have being the first guy to establish himself in the team that played in the 70s mean machine under Ian and Greg Chappell.
I remember recording these tests series when rain stopped play I've seen this one and 1 from 1966 vs WI 1968 Ashes and the 1969 series again vs WI the 69 series was narrated by E.W Swanton
We all thought this stuff meant something... Its just a nasty little distraction from that which has arrived, and people still worry about whos the greatest bowler batter etc etc...but its all sh1t, that now... doesnt mean a thing !!! Wakey Wakey folks time to get up... Jesus is about to take the new ball...😁
How parks and Alan Smith were played before John Murray escaped me.....missed stumping by parks in Melb 65/66 so costly..two backstops compared to J.T.MURRAY
Wally Grout died far too young. He played for keeps, as the saying goes, but was the perfect sportsman, not running out Fred Titmus after he had been impeded. I always thought J.T. Murray was unfairly dropped in 1967, after just one bad match, and not given another opportunity.
Wow this is simply wonderful!!!!
Nice to see the bats and stumps not plastered with adverts.
Thank-you. Fine players! Ken Barrington was our sheet anchor.
The BBC would show these films when 'Rain stopped play' in the early 1980's.
Wonderful commentary by the incomparable John Arlott. Almost Shakespearean.

Great footage, many thanks for uploading.
Yes!
Footage of Trueman.. so rarely in colour film, only just out of his pomp and still a test for batsmen.

Trent Bridge '64 where Boycott made his England debut
This is really rare
Looks like the 1964 and 1968 series were ruined by rain…
