This reminded me of seeing through a glass darkly, but then 'face to face'.

Its not that Jesus didn't heal him the first time he rubbed spit in his eyes its that he showed the man something that was there that we cant see. Then he gave him what we consider normal sight. What did the Israelites see when they spied out the promise land? What did Elisha ask God to show the man before the battle? What did the children of the fallen angels look like. Jesus showed the blind man the spirit world. If you have seen the movie Constantine I imagine it must have been like that. A world existing within an existence.

No. You need to listen and study again and stop putting a gnostic spin on this! Why would Jesus take the focus off of himself which is the Christ?! He wouldnt. The whole point was to strengthen faith in who he is; the messiah. Jesus was not only strengthening the blind mans faith but he was also strengthening his apostles faith.

@@gigiis5262 kings 6 17 1 kings 22 19-21 Psalm 82 I am listening. The war is real and not a gnostic spin. The spirit world is real and Jesus was showing it to us. I am sure you are genuine and love Jesus but it is clear to me that by showing the blind man what was not seen by normal eyes Jesus was showing us too. Jesus is confronting those spoken of in Ephesians 6 12. The war has been going on for a long time as spoken of in Jude 4-8. GiGi I am not a gnostic but I can see the war. I believe Jesus is God and he is busy fixing what is wrong and he is not done yet. I take nothing away from Jesus's majesty by speaking of his mission. He is going to end evil and save the faithful. That's what he said he was doing.

If you consider the correspondence of the “faithful men of God” throughout the past centuries. You’ll find that Dr. Sproul’s treatment of this passage of scripture is almost universally on pace with the understanding that they’ve rendered. It’s of paramount importance to know what the “Giants of the Faith” from antiquity have rendered concerning scriptural matters, as they’ve given their lives “daily” for the Gospel of God.
