Nice video, I have raised 7 broods now, by hand, we have 12 lovebirds and 6 parkeets, its definitely a full-time commitment....lol. Mine like to undo the clasp on my necklace and watch it fall to the ground.
Hey I want a cage where I could fit the nesting box on the side like this. I've had no luck finding one, so I have to place the nesting box on the floor. What brand, and how big is the cage you have in the video?
I noticed that when you opened the cage and put your hand in, that the lovebirds didn't immediately attack you and try to kill you... Do you have any tips for cage-taming a wild aggressive mean severely territorial lovebird? If anyone even approaches my birds cage she will get so mad she sometimes takes it out on her partner. I don't know what to do with her...
Hi there!!! I saw my birds mating a few weeks ago but they didnt lay eggs yet... i am not happy about it... but when i had other love birds they laid eggs in a few days after mating... and i have an earthen pit hung on the top of the cage... wat stuffs do i put in the nest for them to be comfy!!!
Hello I am wondering where can i buy a good box like yours but for cockatiels and get it shipped to india as i am unable to find a good box here.. thnx
i have a question...i have 2 lovebirds that i had dna tested and i was told they were both male. i have had them for almost a year and just within the past few days i have seen the smaller one mounting the larger one and it looks like theyre mating. theyll do this maybe 6 times a day and then theyll stop for a few days. i know that in dogs they do this as a dominance thing. i was wondering if it is a dominance thing or if the DNA test was wrong and one is in fact a girl?
DNA test right, both must b males otherwise female lay eggs.Bring females adult not a juvenile or chick if u want them to breed.females usually aggressive and spend time in nestbox during breeding season.
I have the exact same cage as you with the same nest box and platform, how did you modify the flat form? Because I didn't mount it get but im going to Thanks!
hey seriously u r awesome......please can u tell that what are the most favorable circumstances in which they do mate...(please dont take me wrong) => do they avoid mating in front us?
@raidersdude911 i love both birds. ive never had a quaker but ive been told they are excellent beginner birds and they are the best talkers next to african greys. i am a first time bird owner and i got two lovebirds. they are awesome!! very friendly and very funny to watch. quakers are louder than the lovies though.
That bungi cord is an accident waiting to happen. You have it going to the tray under the box, not very stable. That bungi cord should wrap around the box side ways and tite. Good way of killing the birds if that box fell off of the cage.
HamsterHelper16 Thats not true. The only visual differences between lovebirds is the coloring, where the females are lighter in color (this doesnt apply to all color mutations tho), and some mutations you're only able to learn the birds sex via DNA-testing OR you can feel the pelvic bone (females have a much, much wider pelvic bone than the males, which are almost completely closed together.), altho this doesn't apply to a very few color mutations (which requires DNA-testing).
@hideous10 well u can tell if its a female if it has darker color of feathers and if its a male it would have lighter color of feathers!!!! My dad just got a pair of lovebirds like a month ago so thats how i know it! At least thats what the lady said in the pet shop!!!!
Thank you. I was wondering how to put those things on the cage, since they have no hangers.
the cage i have looks smaller but the same shape as yours but the birds aren't tamed so what do we do if they fly out
Instead of care fresh is it ok to pit straw

I know it’s been 2 years but if it happens again after some time you can hold the eggs to a light. Also, they hatch writhing 21-22 days I think
