Thank you for this video! I tied a dual 6.5 foot exhaust system to my roof rack with your tutorial and drove 1500miles in multiple windy areas and it held great!
It appears the main difference between the Transom & the Constrictor is that the Constrictor passes over the standing line near the end while the Transom passes under the standing line to lock it in.
Absolutely blown away that at one minute and twenty five seconds he was still talking and had not yet begun to Tie the String Around the Sticks
Thanks.
Patience is a virtue, have you ever heard that? Well now you have.
No seriously
@@techtinkerin so is brevity, have you ever heard that? Well now you have
Also known as the "constrictor knot" thanks, it is a good knot, and now I can apply it to lashing. Perfect!
easy and versatile. it doesn't keep smooth surfaces in places, but with some form of resistance at the end of rods/logs it could keep two in place.
Without binding over the cross-piece, it's the same as the constrictor hitch. Unlikely to come loose unless you specifically go about untying it.
Actually, it's the same as a double overhand knot as the final step is horizontal rather than vertical.
Thank you!❤
Thank you! I used this knot to tie a stabilization bar onto my row cover hoops in the garden.

im so going to do this, i mean why knot ;)
Thanks, such a simple thing but so effective. 👍😎
That knot at 2:26 is a regular constrictor knot. It is not the Transom.
Thank you sir. Your video was very helpful

I used this knot to tie up some loose ends. My neighbor did not see it coming!!!! 😁😁😁😁
Thanks.
this video is cool
My first reaction: "MINECRAFT PICKAXE!"
Great for making roofs for bushcraft shelter!
thank you I had to attach water bottle to my backpack
Iv hulled 200 to 600 lbs black pipe up with clove hitch never had one slip when tightened properly.
looks to me like constrictor knot
Video starts at 1:20
thanks
Constrictor knot is vertical. Transom knot is horizontal.
Horizontal is vertical and vertical is horizontal what changes is ONLY the angle of view. This is a constrictor knot 100%
@@dkoriss1 No. I meant in relation to the strand going across. If anything, this is a double overhand tied around the sticks.
Which knot would you reccommend for building a fence with raw branches?
Notification team!
Shut up. No one cares, fool.
Wondering on how you make a constrictor knot.. Doyou have a video?
Would this knot suffice for making a shelter? Bty, I'd probably put a stopper knot at the end.
Tie it already!
Hello, I just wanyed to ask you if there is any way to reinforce this knot with more lashings?
I can build a stick sword now
Hehe
Similar to constrictor knot
Prologue to tramson knot
I thought that's a constrictor knot? doesn't look any different
ABoK 385. To tie the ribs of a kite together, the Transom Knot (#1255), which is a modification of the Constrictor (#1249), will serve nicely.
Looks like the constrictor knot

It's a double overhand knot tied to sticks instead of tied to itself.
nice and interesting as usual, but..... you are not referring to a table tennis match ! slow down a bit!
may i ask. what is the brand of the rope you are using?
It's paracord.
+Carl-Michael Hammond oh thank you, do you know of any good quality brands of paracord?
Mohamed Hafizh I don't think brand matters, but I don't know, sorry.
Wasn't expecting validation in the first ten seconds. 🎉🏳️⚧️
