I remember when I was 14-17, my mom’s house would always have this jerky in the cabinet. It was in a ziplock bag, and she always made jerky, so I would snack on it when I visited. It wasn’t that good, so I just assumed this was her lazy batches or whatever. It was only when my step brother caught me grabbing one was it pointed out I’d been eating the dog treats for 3 years.
My father in law and brother IL came to do some remodeling on my parents' house for a few days. They were encouraged to eat whatever they wanted. In the morning they were talking about how that sausage in the fridge they fried up gave them so much energy. We were like "umm...what sausage?" Yeah it was dog treats in the shape of a sausage that stays refrigerated.
I normally don't watch, but I had to with the piece of art that was this thumbnail. You perfectly embodied a 1900's villain with those eyebrows. A work of art
This reminds me of the time that I ate a dog treat, when me and my friends were high af and at a local supermarket getting energy drinks after we spent the day at a them park. When one of my friends found something idk if he stole it, or what, but he slammed that on the ground as hard as he could. And me not realizing my current situation, I just ate after scolding him for wasting food, and it took months for me to live that down, it was great.
I've been really sick all week and my 3 year old son just locked me out of the house for a half hour after I took our puppy outside to pee, and I embarrassed myself in front of my neighbors and maintenance guy trying to get back inside and having an emotional breakdown, but at least now I'm back in the house and can relax and watch grown men eat dog food for fun

My grandpa only ever got their dog the OG Milkbones. He didn't even use them as a treat that often, more often than not he would either give him those little canned Vienna sausages, or if he was taking him into town for something like the vet he would stop at Wendy's and get him a plain burger. I swear he was the most spoiled dog XD

One of the wackiest culture shock I experienced in USA was buying a box of bacon-flavored cookies and not realizing it was pet food until I ate it. You'd think they'd put a dog or some animal on the packaging but they didn't.

You realize shock collars have multiple settings for a reason, and most collars have a vibrate setting. The point is to just break your dogs focus and give immediate feedback when your dog does something it shouldn't. You are supposed to slowly go from vibration to an increasing shock level until you find that it gets your dogs attention. If you crank the shock function up to 100 right off the rip, you are the problem, not the collar.

You will probably have to go to higher settings though if your dog has a really thick coat. It's just a way to get your dogs attention if you are unable to get to them immediately, like if you live in a 3+ acre house and they are doing something they shouldn't. Also, just because countries ban something, doesn't mean it is actually that bad. Look at the list of video games and books most countries have banned. And your quote from the NZVA proves my point entirely: "collars HAVE THE POTENTIAL to harm" Yeah, so do fireworks if you use them wrong. But if you use them like they are supposed to be used and in a responsible way, then you will be fine.

SHOUTOUT TO VCA. I am in Canada but recently switched to VCA and their vets/vet techs/administration/dentists are AMAZING. Everyone is so kind, compassionate, and understanding with their clients. They're not pushy and yet they ensure their clients are well informed. I will 100% always recommend them and support them.
Not sure how it is in the US, but over here in Europe all dog food must also be food grade for humans, so that in the event of an emergency of some sort, people can resort to eating dog food safely.
I feel like this tier list is just being bored while working at a pet store (source: me and my coworkers). I know multiple dog treats that taste good and multiple that don't. Also I've shocked myself with shock collars before because people would return them being like "oh I can't get it to work" and I would get it to work (the test if it worked was if it shocked me) and hand them back over to the person so I wouldn't have to return them.
