WB Discovery made a mistake canceling this show. It's one of the most well put together series that I've seen in a long time. The writing is intelligent, chopped full of drama, humour, and a splash of action. The world needs entertainment of this caliber, because let's face it, there isn't enough of it. And selfishly, I want to see what happens next to the characters. After this, I won't be dedicating my time to any new series HBO Max content unless it has a proven track record with at least 2 seasons worth of material. If anyone here knows of a fan petition to bring back The Time Traveler's Wife, then please reply with the details so I can sign it. Thanks.
I just found about this show through Instagram reel and watched the season 1 without knowing the show is canceled. It's been long time since I've been invested on a series and to know that the characters I loved so much won't get conclusion, hurts!
Moffat is going to make us cry again about another Time Traveler's wife. He made us with River Song and the doctor. Now this one. We still going to watch . I just buy extra tissues now😪

So in the wheelchair he’s only 43, the oldest Clare has ever seen him. I pray HBO gives it a S2 so we can continue the story. Moffat puts in the teasers, the feet, the blood on the snow, visions of Alba and then that tantalising scene as the credits roll. HBO-S2!!!
It’s already better than the movie which barely skimmed the surface of the book. IMO the movie was just ok. Wouldn’t see it again. And certainly not after watching these first episodes. The quality of acting, the writing, the fidelity to the book-all much better than movie. And wow James&Leslie’s chemistry!

Her freedom of choice was snatched away from her through grooming n manipulation He definitely had a choice , he manipulated time when he convinced his mum to respond to his gf's question and also when he went back to the day of the wedding While the title is "the time travelees wife" , we don't really get the wife's true side of the story . We only get the one planted in her head
I'm really invested after only 2 episodes, but the producer is dead wrong that "he can change absolutely nothing". He made young Henry better at surviving. That's change. He got his mom to answer a question from Claire. That's change. He's changing things for his future self and for Claire.
I think the author was upending the conventional time travel concept by writing that Henry cannot change anything that happens. Can’t stop 9/11, can’t save his mom, etc. But on a personal level both H and C change each other. By committing themselves to love each other even with the bizarre disorder of time, they have “molded the person each one wanted the other to be.” Watch bar table conversation between them again. What effects this change? Marriage!
Just wait. Bet you’ll change your mind. That first episode was hilarious with them performing like a real couple fighting. And the mutual cathartic emotion in both of them across the library table showed how these actors merged so effortlessly. Great pairing IMO. Both Moffat and author say they were blown away by these two.
Sick stuff. I defended it right up to episode 2. The scene the father stumbles upon is stomach churning. Nobody settles down in front of the telly demanding to see such twisted material. Theo James is human bait. Rose Leslie his powerless accomplice. No amount of elegant conversation on the red carpet can provide sufficient damage control.

The book’s characters are Americans. Both James and Leslie have used the accent before, and for many years people thought James really was American! They have accents more American than many of my natural American relatives! Lol some directors have said the Brits are much better actors.
Not much excitement in this show but to much sadness and talking about what could have been. And the worst part is that he only could time travel in his own timeline. Boring in another word.

Three episodes are released so far and I'm OBSESSED. Theo and Rose are just perfect.
I am SO GLAD they didn't omit, THAT chapter of the book(it has a trigger warning). And the RAGE that Theo showed was.....INCREDIBLE

Episdoe 5 done 🤧 next week is 6 😭 season 2. They portrayed their character so well. The last episode was an explosion of their chemistry.

it's definitely freakin complicated...but it's one of the only plots that I have been able to stay awake through in a while with all my sleep issues

Every jump takes a tremendous toll on his body. In E6 he tells his dad he’s aging faster and is not going to make it through.
