      I am aware that you are making a joke, but as a table tennis Player, Filmmaker and movie lover, this is unironicly what i always wanted to see. I am sure that the Subject matter is not super apealing to most people, it truely feels like this movie was only made for me personally.

      @itssamber01 🌟SYNOPSIS:
      This film is loosely inspired by the life of Marty Reisman, a real-life ping pong hustler and champion. It's set in 1950s New York City and follows Marty Mauser's journey as he navigates the underground world of professional table tennis, pursuing greatness in a sport often overlooked.

  • @NYCVirtualStudio-Clips
    @NYCVirtualStudio-Clips 3 months ago +212

    It was the distinguished honor of my life to be hired for the Marty Supreme Ping Pong Parlor Scene filmed in Manhattan alongside Timothée Chalamet.
    Even more surreal… I got to use the original hard bat racket gifted to me by Marty Reisman himself the very paddle he used to hustle challengers, perform his famous cigarette trick, and leave his mark on New York’s table tennis history. As someone who has played this sport for over 50 years, and was inspired by Marty since the early 1960s, this was more than just a film role. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment where my personal history, Marty’s legacy, and cinema came together on set. Marty’s influence even inspired me to create my own invention the Smart Innovative Racquet a modern extension of his showmanship that brings fitness, technology, and style into table tennis today.What a memorable life experience. Honored to have helped keep Marty’s spirit alive through this film.

He knew Marty pretty well and played with him several times. He read your comment and it put a huge smile on his face to know there are others who have major passion and love for the sport. ❤❤❤❤❤

      @thomasinawhite6045 If you think Boogie Nights is all about sex then you deeply misunderstand the film. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it is pretty much objectively a well made film. In the 90s when it came out, many film critics did not like it but almost no one said it was a bad film.

    For some reason, ping-pong came very natural to me, so I started playing it all the time. I played ping-pong even when I didn't have anyone to play ping-pong with. The hospital's people said it made me look like a duck in water, whatever that means. Even Lieutenant Dan would come and watch me play. I played ping-pong so much, I even played it in my sleep.

    I think we are in an era in which Hollywood finally listened to our complaints that we want more quality than quantity… not only this movie is an example but many others that are been made 🙌 sure it’s a biopic but looking at the recent biopics, they have not disappointed.

Or do we really think that he was able to buy out the court and manipulate all the evidence on a double manslaughter case?

      He is young..I believe he will become better and better.
      To have 2 Oscar Nominations at his age for best actor in a leading role is incredible..and I believe he will be nominated for this movie too.
      FYI...an oscar nomination is more prestigious than a Golden Globe win.
      So being nominated for an oscar is not the same than being nominated in any other award.

But i think it's because i've associated Timothée with those character traits, and i wish he played roles that are less cocky, more humble?... still though, it's subjective, and i really liked whiplash hahah
