Hi dean. I remember stumbling on your channel when I was very young. You were the first person that got me hooked on plant identification and ecology. I haven't visited your channel in a long while. I hope you're doing well. Thanks for all of the great lessons. You are a wonderful teacher. Your work has touched me, and I believe so many others.

The guy absolutely changed my life. I hold out hope and follow the website closely 😁
In my opinion no one has done foraging videos better before or since. He's the OG and still the king.

@@greendeane1 I cannot wait to read it! And please don't feel pressure to overwork yourself in order to create more content. If you don't get enough rest then you'll get burnt out and everyone loses!
Btw I wrote two college papers that were overviews of the available research on edible invasive weed species in developing countries where chronic undernutrition is an issue. Long term I would like to create some sort of non profit that attaches to existing organizations like the WHO and sends foragers out to work with local community leaders on incorporating these untapped resources into existing local cuisine. Something very similar was done in Kenya where they looked into incorporating Prosopis flour into traditional breads, but that was all I could find.

I collect these coralwood seeds on the side of the road of this tropical island rainforest (really is a cloud forest). My husband drills holes on them for me to make bracelets and earrings... they are a lot of fun and a beautiful hue of red color that doesn't fade with time . Now I can collect fresh ones again and cook a few and see how that goes. Thanks!

I wish I could offer the same richness of nature and freedom to explore to my own kid but unfortunately the area is being actively "developed" and we will become one of those people who one day will have to hop in the car to get in nature.

CLipping and some table scraps are fine but if you toss out bone and the like it can attract animals you might not want in your garden such as possums or raccoons.
