  • Welcome to Bits & Biology, a channel about board games from the perspective of a biologist gamer. In this video I show you how to play the roll & write game Waypoints, and then play a solo game using Map 1, Whistling Waters National Park. I encourage you to play along with us!
Waypoints won the 2023 Golden Geek Award for Best Print & Play game (well deserved in my opinion!).
If you want to play along but don’t yet have the game, it can be purchased and downloaded from the Postmark Games website ( www.postmarkgames.com/ ) for about $5 U.S., which includes the three maps that have already been released, plus any future content (I believe they have five maps planned). It’s a great deal for a great game! They even have low-ink versions of the maps if you prefer not to print in color.
Timestamps can be found below in case you want to skip around.
Let me know you liked the video by giving it a thumbs up!
Don’t forget to add your score (and your thoughts about the game if you want) in the comments below! I love reading your comments!

Thanks for posting a playalong! I scored a 132, though I think a large part of that was the mountains I visited and using the hang gliders to make up the difference. Would love to see another one for this map and others!
I explain further about the trig points: I am not a geologist or a member of the USGS, but I believe trig points are short for “triangulation points” which are used to more accurately calculate where certain things are based on the distances to three separate points around a map. The more trig points you are able to establish, the more accurate your location will be for a certain spot on the map, which is probably why the USGS would want to have them discovered in Whistle Water NP!

Nice score! I really need to start using hang gliders more! 😀And thanks for the information about the trig points!
I'm glad you enjoyed the play along! I'm planning to do similar videos for the Aquamarine maps eventually, and of course when they release new maps for Waypoints, I will do those too. ☺ Thanks for watching!

I am a big fan of the game.
The theme is so chilled and it is so easy to get to the table.
I enjoy playing solo, but also got a bunch of my family playing while we were camping over our last (Southern hemisphere) Summer holidays.
I have designed a couple of the fan maps on the Postmark Games discord, including one based on Mount Buffalo National Park in Australia which is our regular family camping destination.

Thanks for the play along! I scored 101 points. Lots of bears and bridges for me but a bit weak on the other tracks.
