Hi Lara, I’m trying to learn your Amish toothbrush technique but first of all thank you for such detail information. But my question is can you cut your own fabric for the runner fabric and sew the strips together to make a real long runner ? Also what size wool Mat do you suggest getting? And if you want to make a real scrappy Amish rug how would you do that? Thank you in advance for any information you can share with me…. Thank you thank you thank you for the great videos

      Hello, Katie! Wonderful questions!
Yesssss! You absolutely can cut & connect your own runner! Absolutely!! This is a wonderful opportunity to combine MANY fabrics into a "Scrappy" rug. I love these types because they remind me of ones Grandma would've made. Bits & pieces of many fabrics!
You can cut OR sew your strips together.
Here's a link to a video you might enjoy! How to connect your fabric strips the "no-sew" method! ruclips.net/video/6U62a8SAyK4/видео.html
Any size of wool mat will work. I prefer a larger one personally. Mine is 17 x 24". They have many to choose from on Amazon if you shop there. Here's a link to one that is a real bargain!

Hoping that helps! So happy you reached out & THANK YOU for your compliments!

How do you connect the feeder fabric to make a larger rug?

Hello, Darla! So happy you've reached out!
If you are connecting roll-to-roll or a roll to an existing rug fabric strip, I've found it's just as easy to simply tie a knot & weave in your ends/tails.
The alternate would be to use the "no-sew slit method" & feed off a few yards at a time to connect them together. Thanks for asking!

The link takes you to cord. And the “fabric” link on your website takes you to cord.
