Oh wow that scope is pretty cool! For our algae and fungi class we had to identify lots of these in samples. Some species of Dino’s are pretty scary looking, they have sharp edges and a very hard exterior to them.
A Mack's reef shout out would have been nice as you've used the pdf to id the ostreopsis. UV is best treatment for it. Part of the reason UV isn't successful for people is because they have too high of pump flow. Your flow should be 1-3 times the aquarium volume and wattage 1 watt for every 3 gallons. I don't think the Dr.Tims method would work for the long term. Try increasing your diversity for furture out breaks.
I've been debating for months whether buying a microscope would really be worth it to diagnose my tank issues as well.....interested in seeing if the waste away actually works.....guess I will have my answer soon lol
U be able to get photo/video of different phyto and copepods etc etc with the new microscope! Dad has one that is just a microscope-camera that plugs into a usb port, 1/4 size of urs I’m not sure if the zoom is as good tho, probably not as good quality, but good for how cheap it was (6years ago, probably like 20$aud when he got it) will have to try it when we get our reef casa tank running! 🔥👊🥰❤️🐶 have a great weekend March and Tia! ❤️❤️🥰🐶
Ok so once you see it under the microscope how do you id it? I just have string stuff and bubbles! Its not on my sand bed and only on one side of the tank wall! but these bubbles are killing my zoas!
Currently dealing with a Dino outbreak after tanking my nitrates. I’ve gotten my nitrates back up a little from feeding more. Do you suggest just dosing the waste away or anything else to go along with it?
Ohhhh! Gettin’ nerdy 🙃 I don’t suppose you could do a video of how to safely get mushroom coral off the rockwork to move them please? I’ve got a mushroom problem 😂
awesome guys can u post the link to the microscope , its on my wishlist but hesitant on which one to order ... awesome vid guys i hope there is a follow up in a few weeks
What an awesome store! I watch you all the time. I wish you were closer!
