The music video was shot in my home country Romania and won many awards! I’m so proud for him and the team for putting such a masterpiece for us! RM’s entire album has been cricitally acclaimed by many sources, definitely recommend checking it all out!
Here is some extra info on RM for you... Name Kim Namjoon Born in 1994 He is BTSs leader, main rapper, composer, songwriter, producer... he has over 220 song copyrights and is the youngest and most credited Idol and a full member of the Korea copyright association He is known for his deep lyrics and moving speeches. Predebut RM, known under the names Runch Randa, Largo, Stealo, and the Nexist in the underground hiphop community was already a prodigy in rap despite being 13years old (he started in the underground scene at 11 years old) impressing other rappers. RunchRanda which basically meant 'I am Runcha', he has said it was inspired by a Maple Story game character he had at the time. He was known to be so good that even older underground rappers in their 20s and 30s didn't wanna battle against him. Also, because of his low-midtone voice, philosophical lyrics and flashy rap skills he gained quite the popularity among hiphop fans. (Jungkook joined the same agency as he had been so impressed the first time he saw RM perform...) Throughout 2008-2010 , RM (Runch Randa or Randa ) was mentioned multiple times by other rappers in their songs mostly complimenting RM or wishing they had skills or fame as him. An example for that is when Zico* made a diss song to Philophon (35yo) who is also a rapper saying "you got your ass handed to you by a 13 yr old Runch" referencing that Philophon already lost to teen Namjoon. RM joined BigHit in 2010 at 15 years old. His audition.was watched by the CEO BangShiHyuk and RM was offered a contract on the spot.... He was 18 when BTS debuted.
One thing to understand about RM is he is the most experimental of the Rap line. Every project he puts out is completely different to the last. There is am argument for starting with his first mix tape JOKE and DO YOU, then an early collab with Walle CHANGE. these are all straight rap but his second mix tape we have genre mixing with indie, almost emo overtones with a Hinton R&B thrown but my favourites are FOREVER RAIN and SEOUL which is ultra chill. Then his first album INDIGO. every track is a differrent genre, highly polished. He brings in genre specialists like ERYKAH BADU the Queen of Neo Soul, Anderson Paak, Paul Blanco and the fantastic YOUJEEN for the brilliant WILDFLOWER a steering self examination of where RM sees himself right then. Next is the highly experimental RP WP where RM experiments not only with genres and genre splicing but ways of using collaboration to actually create the sounds. He described it like one big music camp. Highly praised by critics as Rap artists you will probably enjoy his two rarest tracks GROIN and NUTS. My favourites are ALL AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAY and DOMADACHI also come back to me. They all have videos by famous film/ videographers do not be fooled by the tongue in cheek Groin video. It looks simple but it's by Pennaki. Whereas COME BACK TO ME is by the award winning director of MEAT.
RM has another song on this album titled, "Credit Roll"... It's ostensibly about the people in a theater that "hold tight when the credits roll"...but we ARMYs tend to interpret it as a message to us about staying with BTS until the very end... It's especially poignant since the very next (and final) song on the album is titled, "Come Back To Me" since we are all waiting for BTS' return from the military
I discovered BTS in January 2023. They are such a special group. I was not into mainstream pop, r&b, jazz, hip hop, or EDM. My background was metal, alternative, and indie. However, I watched the music video for Fake Love and became obsessed with that song and then went down the rabbit hole. They really expanded my musical taste and are now my favorite group ever. Here are some recommendations. Solo songs (some released as BTS , some as solo releases, and some as mixed tapes or free sound cloud releases). It helps to start with solo work so you recognize all the members when you get into group work. I also recommend the guide the bangtan by Taylor Mari, a fan and also a professional editor. The songs are just some of my favorites. They have many more. Rappers: AGUST-D (Solo name-suga + daegu town where he grew up spelled backwards)/Suga ( BTS name-stands for shooting guard, his favorite basketball position-he is a brand ambassador for the NBA)/ Min Yoongi (real name) He is a song writer and producer and has producing credits for many of the BTS songs and well as writing credits. He and one other friend will be the only credits you will find for most of his solo work and they do all the production. He has also written and produced for other artists including psy. Songs: haegum, and Amygdala; snooze- featuring woosung from the indie band The Rose; burn it featuring Max; people, moonlight, Agust-D, give it to me, the last, nevermind, shadow, seesaw, dear friend, strange featuring RM, so far away, road to D Day documentary on disney plus, also he hosts a talk show called suschwita where guests come and eat and drink and chat. They bring and share their favorite alcohol. The episodes are all on bangtantv. The episodes with the other members to support their solo releases are especially good but all of them are interesting. RM (Used to stand for rap monster but now stands for real me, real name is Kim Namjoon; he is the leader of BTS and the main rapper. He was the first recruited and the group was formed around him.) One of the main songwriters for BTS and his solo work and even other groups. Songs: wildflower featuring Yujeen, live performance of nuts, domodachi featuring british female rapper little simz who is amazing; persona-based on map of the soul psychology by Carl jung-- they have and entire album based on this theme; heaven, come back to me, groin, Ughgood, everything goes featuring nell, change with wale, forever rain, still Life with Anderson paak. His entire right person wrong place is an experience and i recommend listening to it from start to finish. Tiny desk korea live performance. Part of his duties in the military is playing saxophone--random fact. The two mini and moni episodes on bangtantv are really good where RM and Jimin have and album exchange listening party and discuss their latest solo albums. Very insightful. J-hope (bts name, real name jung hoseok) He came to the group as a hip hop dancer who then learned to rap from RM and Suga. He will be released from the korean military this month on October 17th. Heavily involved in writing BTS songs and his own work. Songs: More, Arson, neuron, I wonder, hope on the street featuring j cole, Stop, daydream, airplane, lock/unlock, chicken noodke soup featuring becky g, lalapaloosa headliner live performance, MMA 2020 live performance, hope on the street vol. 1 street dance documentary on Amazon , the jack in the box documentary on disney plus. Now to the vocal line. Jungkook, main vocalist, youngest in the group. Currently in the south korean military until June 2025. Released his first solo album last year named Golden. Often goes by JK or Kookie. He became a trainee for BTS at age 13 and is naturally talented at everything so he also became an excellent dancer. Songs: standing next to you, standing next to you featuring usher, 3D featuring jack harlow, still with you (written by JK), my you (written by JK), euphoria live at wembley, my time, stay alive produced by suga, shot glass full of tears, hate you, closer to you, begin, somebody, and the live performance at times square. Disney plus also has a travel show where JK and jimin visit Connecticut, Jeju island, and Sapporo, Japan and basically eat, but they also do adventures like kayaking, boating, swimming, climbing, snowboarding/skiing, etc. He is a hoot. Jimin. Contemporary and hip hop dancer, learned to sing with BTS. Counter tenor, so he has a very high voice. Serving in the military until June 2025. He is in the same unit as JK. He has released two short solo EPs last year and they performed exceptionally well. Many refer to him as the king of kpop. Songs: who, lie live performance, set me free pt 2, like crazy, serendipity live performance, alone, be mine, live performance of rebirth and slow dance featuring Sophia Carson, filter live performance, face off, smeraldo marching band featuring loco, live dance performance with jimin and j-hope dancing to boy meets evil (note: when you get into more bts you will really see jimin's dance shine in performances of black swan and in the MMA 2019 and 2018 performances--he is a beautiful dancer) V (bts name) real name is Kim Taehyung. He has a soulful baritone voice and an affinity for jazz music. He is also an excellent dancer and he learned as a trainee for BTS. He is serving in the korean special forces unit of the military until June 2025. He released his first solo EP last year. Songs: singularity music video and live performance, stigma live performance, slow dancing, rainy days, fri(end)s, love me again, sweet night, winter bear, Christmas tree, tiny desk korea live performance. Jin (real name is Kim seokjin): He is the oldest and completed his military service this June. The day after release he held a fan meeting where he hugged 1000 fans or something like that and performed several songs for them. He has been busy ever since shooting his own variety show run jin, appearing on other variety shows, carrying the torch in the Paris Olympics, becoming a gucci brand ambassador, and recording his first solo album which should drop in the next few months. Songs: epiphany live at wembley, the astronaut, the astronaut Live with coldplay in Argentina, abyss, yours, awake, and of course, any run jin episode. He is hilarious. For laughs you should also check out his viral fishing song he released for his birthday as a joke called super tuna. BTS as a full group: Songs: black swan, fake love, on kinetic manifesto, fire, louder than bombs, mikrokosmos, not today, we are bulletproof the eternal, lights, your eyes tell, film out, magic shop live, butterfly, sea, dionysus, N.O., boy in love, make it right, and so many more. Live performances: MMA 2019, MMA 2018, 64th grammys (you will need to put a filter over the video or bock for that one), black swan at permission to dance, bts room live, tiny desk concert, mic drop and run BTS live in busan at the yet to come concert, proof live performances-especially born singer, ddang live where the vocal line rap the main parts instead of the rappers, Rap line: outro tear live at wembley, ugh live, cyphers 1-4, ddang, cypher medley in seoul Vocal line: house of cards live, zero o'clock, the untold truth live, butterfly prologue from yet to come in busan, dimple live (followed by pied piper by the full group)
The video Lost recently won the top four awards at the CICLOPE film awards festival in Berlin. Two other MVs on RM’s album are Come Back to Me and Domodachi. RM is a genius and his album RPWP is epic.
Love you looked at this one. Some interpretation is the different people in the crew are different emotions within RM (if you watch the facial expressions they keep the same 'tone' on their faces through the whole video)... he usually has two or more meanings within a single line in a lyric and is so supper creative. Thanks for sharing!
One of the actresses said in an IG post that they represented 4 of RM’s “personas”. She played “overconfident RM” and the other 3 personas were “anxious”, “jaded” and “goofy”. You can see Overconfident usually leading the way, Goofy doing odd stuff (water cooler & extinguisher), Anxious hiding and Jaded rolling her eyes. They remain inside the “maze” when RM finds the exit because they are part of him.
I haven't read much about what the song is about aside from the most straighfoward message. But you interpretarion of corporation is great. It's interesting too because RM said he felt like a bussiness man/diplomat at some point, when he and the group started to act more like representatives of the country, speaking at the UN multiple times, meeting presidents and stuff
FYI: This song and video have nothing to do with office life or the "cooperate ladder". RM and the four other characters with the same clothes represent five different parts of RM's personality.
i think you can definitely make links to the corporate ladder though, he’s using very obvious imagery of office life as a metaphor for a reason. the different parts of his personality can defo be applied to other situations, where workers may be exploited, or may even feel lost/unfulfilled. i feel like LOST is v multifaceted in that sense
PAUSE. I don't want you to react to the songs from rpwp individually. This album is a journey, and you need to listen to it from start to finish to truly feel every song and its transformation. The album is excellently managed, like a story with each chapter following the next. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed; instead, you’ll gain even more respect for RM. The experience is unforgettable.
From his early rap monster days every solo project RM puts out is totally different to the last. The most experimental and creative member of BTS andvone of their main lyricists. If its really poetical chances are it's RMs lyrics. Check out Vs SINGULARITY those beautiful lyrics are RM.
Next... V.... Tiny Desk Performance (3 songs off his new album live with band) JHope... Neuron Jin... The Astronaut Jimin... Who And then BTS Tiny Desk Performance. Also RM did a tiny desk Performance too.

Funny you mention staying for the credits - there is a song on RPWP that is called Credit Roll - a reference to just that - “when the credits roll do you hang tight?”
I do have to say having watched a few reactions on this channel that while content wise the reactions tend to be good, the fact that Poetic seems to knee-jerk look at James routinely while making points is weird. Just as sports announcers converse and watch simultaneously while the action is going on, attending to the stream, pausing it if necessary, would feel more natural when reacting. Not a criticism, just an observation. For me Poetic's frequent seeking James's attention is distracting and to an extent makes James feel much more skilled in event broadcasting.
This music video already won awards... He's such a creative artist...his every song has a deep meaning
It's a crazy video
RM whole album is critically acclaimed.
I would recommend RM's previous album, "Indigo", every song expresses deep emotions very poetically.
Yes, thank you for recommending! We'll definitely check it out!
