I think it's great the way you go thru the issues that you have. I know that it's frustrating but you exude confidence. Occasionally I come up missing a part either thru negligence on my part ( shooting out of the tweezer, dropping on carpet since moved location of table or my mischievous cat ) . Then it seems the ocassional misfit. Fortunately I've managed the inebriation but then there's the overly tired but I've just got one more thing before bed. Love your work some of the best out there. I'm striving to improve and sites like yours help greatly. PS scratch building sometimes can be fun and creative and other times suck and you wonder why bother but you want the detail.
Great stuff again mate, think I would of thrown it against a wall several times. I'm looking forward and pre ordered HKs /48th scale B-17G coming in December the owner said at Telford. Apparently he said that the Yanks shipment went out that week leading upto Telford and ours will be released December, first week so I've saved for it. However your not the first to have a few issues with HK kits. Mind you, we are modellers so say no more. I'm trying to Finnish my project for the Warts and all Facebook page Group Build. I'm building the Finnish BT-42, in 1/35th scale. I've just got to construct the turret and add a wee bit more weathering to the base then of course paint and weather the Bt then it's done. My mojo is just hit and miss this year. Health and constant hospital staysthen full time work and being a single parent doesn't help but I just wish I could keep it going strong. Anyway, sorry for boring you Greg mate, I've got a Kitty Hawk Su34 fullback on the go and my word was I a fool to think " hey, expensive, new kit from Kitty Hawk surely they aren't as bad as everyone says" nope they are still bloody awful. So I've boxed that until the Bt is done. Then I can concentrate solely on that. Anyway, hope your well buddy and your family? Brill job and patience my friend. Looking forward to part 3. Stay safe
Cheers Motty; yes we are long overdue on the B-17 the built-up one looked good at the stand. It's a shame we didn't meet up at Telford, would have been nice to have had a chat. Stay strong.
Love the engines and I always enjoy your problem solving now I am looking at the dry brush silver on the T55 engine with a sigh , Greg says...…. Regards Gav.
You are doing a very nice job on that kit (I have the 2 seat Nightfighter and the single seat Dayfighter kits) but I should point out a couple of minor points for future builds. First up, Tamiya XF22 is not a good match for the German RLM02 Primer Grey-green (Which was also used as an upper camouflage colour, especially around the 1940 era) Mix in some Flat white at 1 part XF22 to 2 parts Flat white (XF2?) to get RLM02 accurate. I think XF22 is closer to the German uniform colour, FeldGrau (Field grey) as it dates from the time when tamiya did mostly 1/35th military kits. Second RLM 66 Schwartzgrau (Black-grey) is a Cockpit colour only- This began in early to mid 1939 and lasted through the war. ALL Other internal surfaces, including engine mounts etc, were either RLM02 - or left in natural metal, especially later in the war. The Dornier had quite a long development cycle so most of it was painted, apart from areas which were constantly being worked on. As said, you are doing some great work there, looking forwards to seeing the finished product. Brett in NZ.
HI Greg. Love the details that you paint in. Are those fuselage ribs painted with a lighter tone of the main fuselage color? If so, how much do you lighten that paint up or do you use a completely different color to make them pop like that? Really looks nice. :-)
I experimented with different methods on the model. Certain areas the ribs are masked off. Then either watercolours, pencil lead or Mr Metal buffing paints are used. So the Dornier was an experiment in whether these techniques worked 👍

Thanks John, talking of cats, mine has a preference for propellers. Always have too make sure the room door is shut 😊
Top notch engine and wheel bay weathering. Keep it up Greg 👍

ANother outstanding video and presentation.
Looks great, what one is the best This one or the Zoukei Mura ??
I prefer this one the other is far too involved for my liking.

Don't listen to me Gav I'm always talking rubbish, ask my wife. The interior is looking great, love those shells.
I usually use a darker metal colour, like steel to dry brush engines etc. And sometimes make a wash with it too.
WOW very nice job 👏👏👏

How are you glueing the pre painted pieces together?
If the bond needs to be strong I'll scrap the paint off, if not Cyanoacrylate is used.
@@GregsModels Thanks
TBH Greg I /like/ the silver highlights on the engine blocks, but it's /your/ model not mine :)
Have you done a large scale fw 190
No 😎
