*Part Two of my other comment on the events here:*
-3:12 (13th September 1940): The Tsardom of Bulgaria forces Romania to sign the Treaty of Craiova, giving back the territory of Southern Dobruja to Bulgaria that was lost after World War One.
-3:16 (28th October 1940): As part of their attempt to make a new Roman Empire, Italy decides to attack the Kingdom of Greece and begins the Greco-Italian War via colonised Albania. Italy took Corfu and tried to move down to take Ioannina, but failed miserably and their attack was repelled. Greek forces chased them all the way up into Albania again and went on the advance as British troops arrived to aid them. Despite originally having been neutral, Germany saw British troops arriving in Greece as a threat to their control in Central Europe and decided it needed to finish Greece off.
-3:19 (20th November 1940): Regent Miklós Horthy of Hungary decides to join the Axis and permits German troops to enter the country.
-3:22 (23rd November 1940): King Michael I of Romania decides to join the Axis and permits German troops to enter the country.
-3:24 (1st March 1941): Tsar Boris III of Bulgaria joins the Axis.
-3:26 (6th April 1941): Yugoslavia lead by Prince Paul decided to join the Axis at first, but on the 27th March 1941 a coup d'état was started by King Peter II and gave him complete and utter control over the country, leading him to declare war on the Axis. Within 3 days the capital of Belgrade had fallen and King Peter II had fled the country. After a week and 5 days of fighting, Yugoslavia surrendered and was carved up between Italy, Germany and part of it got turned into the Independent State of Croatia. Despite falling, fierce Yugoslavian partisan fighting would eventually lead the almost entirely self executed liberation of the country.
-3:40 (23rd April 1941): With the entire of Central Europe against them, Britain and Greece flee from the mainland and briefly set up a base on the island of Crete. Resistance was put up heavily for a while before it fell, enough time for it to be dubbed "The graveyard of the German paratrooper".
-3:43 (2nd May 1941): In order to gain control over its former colony, Britain invades the Kingdom of Iraq in the Anglo-Iraqi War. Iraq's military is barely able to put up a resistance against Britain let alone a coalition of Indian, Australian, Greek, Palestinian and New Zealanders. Iraq surrenders on the 31st May after British troops enter the capital of Baghdad.
-3:47 (8th June 1941): Now with domination over the area, the British coalition invades Syria and Lebanon in the appropriately named Syria-Lebanon Campaign. By the 14th July both territories surrender and Vichy France looses control over the Middle East.
-3:58 (22nd June 1941): Germany, Romania, Finland, Italy, Hungary and Slovakia all suddenly violate the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and declare war on the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa. The Axis see *massive* success at first and are rapidly sweeping through the unprepared Soviet lines. The Lithuanian, Estonian, Latvian and Byelorussian SSRs all fall within weeks. Finland invades from the north and has the complete advantage this time, getting very close to meeting the German forces during the Siege of Leningrad.
-4:10 (30th September 1941): Axis forces reach the outskirts of the Soviet capital of Moscow, but are violently beaten back in a series of attacks. Soon after the Russian winter sets in and the Germans begin to face enormous problems with their supply line and are forced to go on a massive retreat.
-4:30 (23rd August 1942): Germany decides to invade the Caucuses to take the oil supply in the area and to do so has to sweep through the city of Stalingrad. Stalin orders the city to be defended until the last man as it bears his name. The Battle of Stalingrad will eventually become the deadliest battle in all of human history with 1,400,000 casualties.
-4:33 (8th November 1942): American and British forces land in Morocco in Operation Torch. Their troops sweep into the Italian colony of Libya and the Vichy French colonies, ending the North African front.
-5:35 (11th November 1942): German troops entire Vichy France to ensure that it can't be invaded.
-4:41 (9th July 1943): British and American troops land in Sicily in the south of Italy and quickly move up the peninsula.
-4:47 (3rd September 1943): After the fall of Rome, Italy surrenders to the allies and German troops flood the country, establishing the Social Republic of Italy under the leadership of Benito Mussolini.
-4:48 (6th June 1944): In the largest amphibious invasion in all of human history, a coalition of British, American and Canadian troops land on the Normandy beaches and sweep through Northern France.
-4:49 (23rd August 1944): King Michael I of Romania launches a coup d'état against the Fascist regime in the country and joins the Soviets against the Axis.
-4:49 (27th August 1944): Bulgaria buckles under the strain and announces neutrality, withdrawing all forces back into the country. Just 3 days later Stalin orders they declare war on Germany so they do and the Bulgarian army marches out to meet the Soviets.
-4:50 (17th January 1945): Soviet forces capture Warsaw.
-4:55 (30th April 1945): Adolf Hitler kills himself in his bunker in Berlin, Joseph Goebbels takes over as Fuhrer.
-4:58 (1st May 1945): Joseph Goebbels kills himself, Admiral Karl Donitz takes over.
-5:01 (8th May 1945): Karl Donitz orders the surrender of the German forces.

    *Events:*
    GLOSSARY:
    -Wehrmacht - German army
-BEF - British Expeditionary Forces, British overseas attacking army
    -RAF - Royal Air Force
    -Luftwaffe - German air force
-Maginot Line - A heavily guarded layer of defences along the French-German border that could repel most attacks.
-0:00 (7th March 1936): The Rhineland which had previously been demilitarised due to the Treaty of Versailles is flooded with troops in an event dubbed "The Remilitarisation of the Rhineland". Despite being a clear violation of the treaty, Britain and France do not respond with any sort of force.
-0:15 (17th July 1936): Nationalists in Spain led by General Francisco Franco begin the Spanish Civil War against the Spanish Republic. The left wing Republicans are backed by the Soviet Union and Mexico while the Nationalists are backed by the Kingdom of Italy, Germany, the Second Portuguese Republic and the Vatican City.
-0:25 (25th November 1936): Germany and the Japanese Empire sign the Anti-Comintern Pact, an alliance dedicated to ending Communism in Europe and Asia, target number one being the Soviet Union.
-0:31 (12th March 1938): As part of their attempt to unite the Germanic nations, German troops cross the border of the Federal State of Austria. While Austria never agreed to the Anschluss, the country was already extremely far right and many people saw the German government as just a more powerful version of their own. Most anti-right activities had been banned before this which is why you see many people welcoming German troops during this event.
-0:40 (14th - 15th March 1938): Germany seeks to control the majority ethnic German territory of the Sudetenland, but Czechoslovakia obviously denies this request. In the strategy of appeasement, the British and French agree to meet with the Germans to discuss the matter, but do not invite Czechoslovakia to it. Britain and France both give the go ahead to annex this land so Germany invades on the 14th March. Most of Czechoslovakia's defences that had been built up overtime were in the Sudetenland, meaning that they were completely unable to mount any sort of defence and no actual military resistance took place. Soon after the Protectorate of Bohemia & Moravia and the Republic of Slovakia are formed by the Germans.
-1:00 (1st April 1939): Republican Spain is overwhelmed by Franco and the Nationalists leading to them surrendering and the Spanish State being declared, a nation that will last until 1975.
-1:03 (August 1939): Germany sends an ultimatum to Poland demanding the Free City of Danzig [That small beige coloured bit without a countryball in the north of Poland] but are of course denied as they know what would happen if they did.
-1:11 (23rd August 1939): Germany and the Soviet Union sign the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, a non-aggression pact that is meant to create good relations between the nations.
-1:23 (1st September 1939): On the 31st August, German troops dressed as Polish ones attack the Gleiwitz Radio Station in Gliwice (Then on the German side of the border) in a false flag attack to give a reason to invade. The next day a joint attack of Army Group South coming in from the west, the 3rd and 4th armies travelling down from East Prussia [The grey bit separated from Germany], Slovaks in the south and German nationals acting as partisans sabotaging Polish military operations. That same day the German battleship SMS Schleswig-Holstein shelled Free Danzig and landed troops there, but were held back by the police forces at the local post office.
-1:30 (3rd September 1939): After Germany doesn't respond to their ultimatum to leave Poland, Britain and France declare war on Germany and begin planning to send supplies to Poland.
-1:33 (17th September 1939): After being promised total control of their conquered territories, the Soviet Union invades Poland from the east with multiple tank divisions.
-1:35 (27th September 1939): The capital city of Warsaw falls to German troops and Poland surrenders, the government fleeing just before it.
-1:37 (8th October 1939): The Central Government Administration is formed in the conquered German territories in Poland, a regional government that is completely controlled by German officials.
-1:43 (30th November 1939): After an artillery strike against their troops [Which was definitely a Gleiwitz Radio Station situation] the Soviet Army invades Finland. The Finnish army has *no* tanks, a severe shortage of supplies and very poorly trained soldiers but does have one very big advantage: Camouflage. As winter rolled in it began to snow heavily and the Finnish uniforms completely blended in while the brown shade of the Soviet uniforms made them stand out. The Soviets were held back at the Mannerheim Line, a thin dispersing of concrete fortifications lined with barbed wire.
-1:56 (12th March 1940): Despite having the advantage at first, the winter eventually ended and General Secretary Josef Stalin of the Soviet Union sacked the majority of his high command and replaced them with better ones. They utilised tank spearhead formations over the previous tactic of "throw everything at them". Another thing that failed the Finnish was when they tried to go on the offensive, but these troops were only trained in defensive warfare so they failed miserably. Finnish Commander in Chief, General Mannerheim, reasoned with the government to enter negotiations and so the Finnish Foreign Minister Väinö Tanner travelled to Moscow to settle with them. Eventually the Moscow Peace Treaty was signed and Finland agreed to give up some of its lands near Leningrad.
-2:13 (9th April 1940): After the sinking of the German oil tanker Altmark, Germany caught onto allied plans to cut off their iron supply via landing troops in Norway. Norway denied this but Britain and France still landed their men along the coastline. Germany decided it needed to stop this so they invaded Denmark and Norway. Denmark had removed its troops from the border a few months earlier to prevent a Gleiwitz Radio Station incident from happening, but this meant that the country's 14,000 man army was either far up north or in the capital of Copenhagen. After just 6 hours Denmark surrendered. Just an hour or so later, German troops landed in Oslo, the capital of Norway. While there was significant British and French troop presence in the area, the Germans had complete air superiority and were able to sabotage most of their operations. This defeat in Norway was so humiliating that British Prime-Minister Neville Chamberlain resigns and Winston Churchill soon takes over as leader of the Conservative Party and therefore the role of Prime-Minister.
-2:21 (10th May 1940): In an attempt to bypass the French Maginot Line, Germany attacks and declares war on the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium. Luxembourg surrenders in just 14 hours after the Border Police hold off the German advance temporarily.
-2:23 (17th - 27th May 1940): The last Dutch and Belgian fighting forces surrender and are turned into the Reichskommissariat Niederlande and the Reichskommissariat Belgien-Nordfrankreich.
-2:25 (4th June 1940): The BEF and French 1st and 2nd armies are trapped at the coastal town of Dunkirk. While the French armies are almost entirely destroyed, the BEF is rescued by an entire fleet of civilian and commercial ships coming from Britain. This Dunkirk evacuation will be the entire reason that Britain doesn't immediately loose.
-2:26 (10th June 1940): The Kingdom of Italy declares war on Britain and France so they can get in on a cut of French territory.
-2:28 (22nd June 1940): France is unable to hold back the overwhelming German advance and surrenders in the same train car that Germany signed the armistice in in World War One. Germany takes the entirety of the north while Italy takes a small chunk in the southeast. The remaining territory is turned into a nation called the French State, otherwise known as Vichy France, which is a German puppet state that is lead by Marshal Philippe Pétain, a Nazi Sympathiser. Vichy France quickly asserts control over all of the French colonies in Africa and South East Asia.
-2:33 (June - August 1940): During the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, it was agreed that the Soviet Union could have complete control over the Baltics and since they'd already gone after Finland and failed, it was time to go after the main Baltic States. An ultimatum was sent out to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Latvia and Lithuania agreed quickly, Estonia took slightly longer but eventually did.
-2:44 (June - July 1940): The Soviets demanded Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina from the Kingdom of Romania in an ultimatum and received it on the 3rd July.
-2:50 (7th September 1940): After Britain refuses to surrender to Germany, the Luftwaffe begins an extensive air bombing of the major cities in the UK including London, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Swansea, Plymouth and Belfast. Thousands of children are moved out to the countryside to avoid this bombing and the Auxiliary Firefighters force is formed to battle the raging fires. Even though this was meant to break the morale of the British people, it completely backfired and one of the biggest senses of comradery formed during these times. Germany focusing on civilian targets also allowed the RAF bases to recover from the previous bombings and get their planes back in the air. Out of all the planes the famous Spitfire was able to do extreme damage to the Luftwaffe.
-3:10 (September 1940): As part of the Second Vienna Award that was made in August 1940, the historically disputed territory of Northern Transylvania is given to the Kingdom (It was actually lead by a regent who had complete authoritarian control) of Hungary.
