We need to look at education as a privilege instead of a right. All children should have the opportunity to go, but they have the responsibility to follow the rules to stay. Just like getting a drivers license. And if students are not allowed to stay, then their PARENTS become responsible for providing their education. This would solve a lot of discipline problems. It is why private schools are so good at educating young people…they can ask problem students to leave.
EXACTLY. These "students" that continually disrupt the system with criminal and threatening activity need to be BANNED from the public education system. Sure, you can give them one chance, but after that they're GONE. Let the teachers concentrate on the students that actually WANT to be there and learn.

Check back to about 10 years ago...ask the EMPLOYEES.
There were gang members being placed INSIDE the County building to 'hide them' -- these were supposed to be school aged kids. County employees realized what the County and School Board were doing and they confronted Loudoun County officials, essentially saying 'we will not come to work if this continues'.
LOUDOUN MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBLE!!

The Loudon County schoolboard is an ongoing problem! Also, with the problem of the SA, they DID shut down parents! They had the victim's father dragged out and arrested! They called him a liar, said his daughter was lying and denied it happened. This school board, even if there are new members, is just more of the same! WOKE.
It's just going to bring more problems to the school. In my state, they send these kids to alternative schools.

That is one of the most expensive counties to live in, in Virginia. They get the most tax money for their student. Their parents make the most money. They tend to always vote blue.
Why are violent criminals allowed to be in school with our innocent students? I have lived in the Commonwealth of Virginia for 54 years and the way NOVA votes puts the entire rest of the Commonwealth’s children in danger.
Something similar happened to our class in middle school I want to say 1994.
They kept letting the kid off the hook until one day he took off his shirt and carved his gangs name all over his body and walked through the halls bleeding.

This is why Loudoun County has lost about 10% of its student population. My church (Cornerstone Chapel in Loudoun County) opened its school, Cornerstone Academy, in Middleburg a year ago. It was the largest opening of a Christian private school in the history of the ACSI (organization that accredits Christian schools).
Please continue to say this for people to have hope. I finally got my daughter out of the system but other parents seem so broken about their options. They feel trapped and they need hope.
Don't bother firing them - just leave the district and homeschool. Be done with government schools.

In Kentucky, the criminal student are sent to an alternative school where only male teachers work who are trained to deal with problems. It's needed because those kids are likely to do prison time as adults

Parents should just take their kids out of the kid system until every board member resigns. If ALL the kids were to leave they would have no choice because there would be no kids.
Not all parents have that option. Most families, both parents, work. They may not be able to have one quit to homeschool, much less pay for private school.

My 5 year old started kindergarten in Virginia Beach and was having trouble adjusting. The second week of school he kicked an administrator and chargers were referred to the commonwealth. Have not heard back yet but thankfully he has settled in and is doing great.

The school board is not protected by qualified immunity. You can sue everyone on that school board for not keeping your kids safe. All the kids that go to that school. Their parents should go after each, and every single board member put them in court and make it public and show other schools that we the people will not stand for sue them so bad where they have to sell their house and everything they own to pay for the safety of our children. I fear for my grandbabies when they go to school Democrats make it real hard to keep our kids safe.
I was also told by the principal, they just don’t even have enough help to even break up fight, sometimes that the teachers are scared to even jump in the fight because they’re afraid to get hurt! The fact that it even gets to that point is unbelievable that they’re not doing anything about it to where they can prevent it from happening in the first place! The consequences these students that bully other students and jump them and beat them up. They don’t care about consequences. They don’t care about anything like that and that’s the problem as soon as a child makes any type of threat they should be removed from the school. Teachers and students are not being held accountable!

I also asked for a meeting with the superintendent and she told me the same thing that they do not have to show the video so you have to have money to afford an attorney to be able to request the video. It’s a bunch of crap.
There were known gang members at my high school in Loudoun and I graduated in 2019- nothing is new here

Wow, this is very dumb and frankly disgusting. 40% of high school students in the US attend school in low income areas that are full of gangs. There are at least 500,000 documented gang members in the US under the age of 18. Most of them are "attending" high school. But let's all get outraged because there is 1 "alleged" gang member in the richest school district in America. The parents of these school kids have one of the highest median household incomes in the country, with a large portion of its population working in nearby Washington, D.C., in high-paying sectors like government, MEDIA, technology, and business. Suck on that the rest of you plebs. Nobody cared that your kids had to go to school with gang members, but if someone at Fox Business hears about it, it's suddenly an issue.

And they allowed both those student to come back to that school! Those same girls jumped another student and another one that same week!! It’s sickening

States/districts should all offer virtual high school programs. If a student has violent offenses they shouldn't be allowed to attend school in person. Schools can provide the computers the way they do for in person students and help those students obtain internet access. This would also give non-criminal students another option if they are facing poor learning conditions at their school, bullying, or are teen parents. Problems solved! I say states/districts because many districts wouldn't be able to pull it off financially or wouldn't have enough students enrolling in small communities so a statewide program with districts providing support might work better than districts taking sole responsibility.

Way back when I was in high school I got expelled for a week for smoking in the school girl's bathroom. By the way said bathroom was for girls only. Guys would get in more trouble than I did for smoking by going in there, the only restroom with tampons by the way.
